Johan de Nysschen, president of General Motors' Cadillac division, says Caddy's ELR extended-range plug-in won't have any future generations, Automotive News (subs. req.) says. The publication previously reported that the car would be around for another couple of years, but even that's questionable, and the model could be yanked even sooner.

It's not bad looking.

I guess that type of buyer could give a shite less about being green.

Pretty much.

It was a dud from jump.

You could buy them for 10-15K off sticker from the start.

That car says "I like banging MILF strange that's into being Eco-friendly" (basically Orange County housewives at Whole Foods).

It's like the Volt and the CTS-V smoked some hash and got weird with each other.

That was another part of the problem.

Those cars have really nice interiors, though.

The dealer where I bought my daughter's car had two of 'em in the showroom. Everybody already knew you couldn't give them away.
Sales guy just shook his head.

Something I've never understood about the American auto market is how many of the luxury brand models look like the flagship brand cars but with a fancy grill, better tech, and premium brand badging.

This is even odder to me with how a fully loaded version of the lower level car is often similarly equipped to the lowest tier of the luxury brand.

So all things being equal, buying the luxury car is often purely for status.

While you have point, many times people are willing to pay for the extras.

That said, the difference between a King Ranch and a Platinum comes down to a stainless steel tailgate insert and a heated steering wheel, both of which are standard on the Platinum and unavailable on the KR.

Yeah, that's new for this year.

I was researching the differences between the F-250 KR and the F-250 Platinum and those are the only two things I could see that were materially different, outside of some color and wheel options.

Not on new models.

ETA: Do me a favor and find me a 2017 F-250 in August for 10K off sticker.

Let them be out 2 months, and the huge discounts start. Chevy was discounting the 2016 models about 6 weeks after they hit the lots. Ford does the same thing.
