Issues with Capital One Bank

Maybe more fitted for the Money board but I wanted to see if others have had issues with Capital One Bank ?
I was charged $100 for an ATM transaction in which the ATM did not dispense cash. The bank in Ascension Parish was closed for the day. The ATM OID indicated that a problem occur and I would not be charged for the transaction. But I was.
Customer service at this bank is poor and this one representative was rude. It’s going to take a freaking investigation roger my $100 credited to my account. No timeframe on how long this will take and no apologies for this problem.
I’ve deakt with these people for 26 years and now they think I’m tying to screw them over $100. My black arse matters. F- these people.

I’ve had several problems with capital one in the past but too much of a hassle to switch everything to be honest

That's what you get for banking at a "Cafe" instead of a real bank.

Did you call them or just go into the branch that had the faulty ATM? I've always had great customer service with them via phone.

My mom has had the same checking account since she was 17 or 18
She threatened to move all her & my dads accounts last week
I’ve never had to deal with customer service but she said it’s horrible

It isn't that much of a hassle.

No, you banked with other, local people for over 20 years. Over the last 5 or so, Capital One has massively cut its Louisiana workforce and all but removed themselves from south Louisiana - save for the bank deposits because that’s all they want out of the Louisiana market to fund their credit card portfolio. Management at that Company really doesn’t like Louisiana.

Changes banks not so much. Changing account numbers for all the bills on auto draft, that’s the problem

I've had my current account since I was 18 so 25 years. I just changed it to joint when I got married. It would be a pain in the arse for me to switch. I generally like Regions though so no real need to.

I haven't had any issues with them but I received a notice in the mail asking if I wanted to opt-in to a class action lawsuit against Capital One. It sounds like it might be related to what happened to you.

Plaintiffs in the Capital One ATM fees class action lawsuit claimed they were improperly charged out-of-network balance inquiry fees when using a non-Capital One ATM. According to the accountholders, these ATM fees violated Capital One’s contractual terms.
Plaintiff Jacob Figueroa says he withdrew $20 from an out-of-network ATM in April 2015 and was charged $7 in fees for the transaction. Figueroa says he was charged a $3 fee for the cash withdrawal but was charged two additional $2 fees for his balance inquiry and cash withdrawal.

Started working at Hibernia in college. A few years later, they were bought out by Capital One. I watched it slowly go down hill over the 10 years as I worked my way up there. Customer Service was no longer a priority to most folks. I could no longer be a part of it and made a career change after 13 years.
Also, the goal of the bank is to tie you up every way possible through what they call "sticky services." Bank account, direct deposit, bill pay, credit card, auto loan, home loan, etc. I cant tell you how many people threatened to switch banks and never did due to the hassle. I felt their pain. Capital One sucks now. Rich Fairbank has turned it into a glorified ATM.
