Unconfirmed, but I've seen reports of at least four dead Americans. I imagine there are many more.

BTW Germany cut off all Palestinian aid as of today.

Iran is now directly involved in dead Americans and Europeans while sending drones and advisors to help Russia.

Are we going to just dawdle around or are we going to act like a country with some nuts?

Trump may be a controversial figure, but he did right with Iran by turning that general into mist. Time to remind them of their stature in the world.

Why do we need to do anything? Israel can handle itself.

Because Iran supported a terrorist group that killed Americans. Send more predators to Iranian generals.

They didn’t do shite last time and they won’t if we do it again.

Or is their calculus that if/when Hamas pulls the trigger or their actions result in dead Americans/Germans/etc that those nations will be far more accepting of whatever brutal tactics the Israelis decide on in Gaza?

This is more like those countries trying to keep a leash on Israel as long as those hostages are in play. I don't think there is any way it can't play into the decision making process for Israel.

Probably to keep it from spinning outside of Israel

Failing to see how we can afford this or yet why we need to be involved in another conflict. We’re not the world police and this is why these conflicts happen because of our politics.

That isn't true, they shot down a commuter airplane in direct response......it just so happened to be one of their own planes filled with their own people, but it is the thought that counts.

Well, part of being allies. Can't just choose when and where you decide to be an ally.

This conflict goes way beyond American politics.

Oh stop being a poon. Nobody wants war but revenge is human.
It's no different than people wanting to see Japan wiped off the face of the earth at the end of WWII or Al-Queda and Bin Laden blown to bits after 9/11.

Humans naturally want the "Find Out" part to come to fruition when bad people "frick around" with good people.

Anyone with any sense knew Iran was involved, the question is, is can Israel deal with it without tactical nuclear weapons? They have every right to do so, but hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

I was wondering what the world would do if Gaza and Tehran were both hit with a smallish tactical nuke in the next 24 hours.

Would everyone be like "Welp. You had that shite coming."

Or would it be WW3?

It's not like 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. It's not isolated. The country is under attack. Shouldn't they be able to defend themselves by whatever means necessary?

@SecBlinken

Xwitter

See, Blinken is already publicly calling for/supporting a ceasefire. That's the type pressure that those international hostages brings.

I know these are radicals but I don't get what Hamas and Iran is thinking with this escalated attack. Sure they scored a hit in their eyes but then opening themselves up to a world of hurt. And for what? Hamas I suppose I get it cause they are always involved in the tit-for-tat conflict there. But Iran, if true they were being directly involved, I get that less. Maybe I'm just being naive.

If a country set off two nuclear bombs, what do we think would happen?

The country doing the bombing also doesn't have nuclear weapons "legally".

I think the message would be clear: don't invade a country with 'access' to ICBMs.

You know damned well you'd expect the United States to take such action if a Red Dawn type invasion happened here. Those videos at the music festival look eerily similar to what happened in beginning of the movie Red Dawn.

Yeah, I don't think Israel is going to bomb it's own country. Just leave it at that.

Although it would inadvertently solve the problem of fighting over the land.

Almost any nuke would cause WW3 or a borderline genocide. It would violate MAAD and the world cannot handle that.
