Thanks but the other guy said it is just one step up from a Motel 6.

The other guy obviously has not visited the casino

Island view is a strictly gambling casino. Hard rock has other stuff. I go there to gamble then leave. Try the ip or Biloxi casinos. I should say got treasure bay.

Request to stay at the new portion on the beach side. It is smoke free and nice.

Thanks Tarp. I plan to watch the game either in the Sports Book or one of the bars. I believe they are having a watch party in one of the showrooms as well. I am not staying for free but the rate was $159 per night which I thought was a good weekend rate. I checked the Hard Rock and Beau Rivage. Both were over $200 per night but the main thing was that neither had a King size bed available for this weekend.

Your welcome.

If you are planning on making more casino trips, be sure to get a players club card because depending on your level of play, your next rooms can be free.

That is the plan. We live in Baton Rouge and go to L'auberge once a month or so. I actually have free rooms available there but want to get away for the weekend.

Don't listen to the step up from motel 6 nonsense. It is not as nice as the Beau Rivage, but it is nice.

Opinions vary.

Is this an intentional Road House quote? Your baw quotient is through the goddamn roof right now.

I hear you.

I prefer to go out to the coast to spend my gambling dollar.

I feel I get more on the coast than some of the local Louisiana casinos.

Also, there is more variety of places, so when I feel one is not as giving as another, I can always go to another casino. It is not like Louisiana, where your options are limited depending on which market you are in. Baton Rouge has 3 locations but they are not conveniently located next to each other.

If you are L'auberge member, your card is also good at Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis and at Boomtown in Biloxi. Those casinos all came under the same ownership within the past year or 2, as Penn Gaming who owned Hollywood in BSL bought L'auberge in Baton Rouge who was owned by Pinnacle.

Looks like my interpretation of it being a step above a Motel 6 may have been harsh.

But as others have posted, it is a nice facility.

I like the nonsmoking environment of the Beach Casino, but if you walk around the place, it is huge taking into account that it is essentially 2 casinos in one place. The walk from the Beach casino to the buffet on back of the original casino may warrant an extra trip to the chow line.

The parking on the Beach side needs some attention to as it can fill up and you have to park in a dingy garage that looks like it barely made it through Katrina. Fun fact, Beach Casino’s hotel rooms were the original Grand Casino Gulfport rooms and sat unused for about 10 years when Island View finally renovated them in the last 5 years and opened those hotel rooms first then added the Beach Casino in 2018.

Island View has a lot of food options and several restaurants, more than even some other places like the Beau. By the way, the Beau has Top Golf Suites now.

One casino on the coast though I have yet to spend the night there, that looks nice is Scarlet Pearl. The all glass facade of the building looks intriguing for some of the rooms. Scarlet Pearl also has a Putt Putt course on site, but it doesn’t sit on the beach.

I passed through there a few weeks ago. It's a pretty nice casino for Mississippi. I would stay there over any of the other ones not named Beau Rivage

As far as the quality, it is just a step above staying at a Motel 6 unless you spring for a suite.

I've only stayed in the new beach tower and I would say it's way better than a Motel 6. Of course I haven't stayed at a Motel 6 in 30 years but I'm sure it's still a dump.

They will have the game on the huge screen in the beach casino. It's a really nice casino compared to the one across the street. I'm a fan of no smoking, high ceilings and huge windows. There are many restaurants on the property. I recommend the steamed Royal Reds at Beach Blvd. Steamer restaurant. If you go for lunch they have a great special on them.

Oh and expect to have the company of lots of Bama fans (LSU fans too!).

Enjoy!
