Keep in mind our history has instances of drowning and burning people to death for allegations of sorcery and witchcraft
I hate when people talk about our history and use it as some type of Islamist apology (and I know some muslims who are great people) for events that are happening now.

Let's talk about now, not 100 or 200 years ago.

until Islam rejects this behaviour at a meta level, then I'll still blame Islam for this barbarity

hey represent a small percentage of all Muslims

There are an estimated 1.6 billion muslims on the plantet (~23% of population). A small percentage isn't so small.

Who is apologizing for their behavior? They are ignorant, and superstitious and angry, these are timeless and know no cultural bounds

People drawn to ISIS and other groups are more drawn to the violence and "revolution" than they are the religion.

comparable evil

I did not say it is comparable.

However, it is still considerable. Good ole 'Murica likes to think of itself as one of the most civil countries in the world. We are the land of Opportunity, right? Yet we have severe poverty and some of the most depraved acts of violence that you can find.

Can you honestly tell me of a single act of Evil worse than what happened at Newtown? And that happened in Connecticut of all places.

Is it as a big of scale as ISIS, no. Yes, we do have our share of Evil here.

Throughout history, Homo Sapiens have been capable of extreme acts, ISIS is not an anomaly, it is merely prevalent for now. Personally, I think we are seeing factions such as ISIS in the Middle East due to the political environment, not because of the religion.

There truly are many Muslims that are peaceful minded and very respectful of other societies. Unfortunately, those people are not making headlines. Who wants to watch a video of a Muslim bringing good tidings to a Christian? I guarantee you LiveLeak wouldn't post it.

So? You think ISIS represents some modern Islamic culture?

Do anti-abortion terrorists blowing up clinics represent Christianity too?

im a Christian, but know some muslims. Dont blame their religion on some radical idiots. That isnt fair. All muslims do not support this shite

You know why people never talked shite about Christianity when it comes to the KKK? It's because Christians in the gov't across the country and in the deep south sharply rebuked them and took every step possible to deter and stop their actions in their tracks. The FBI, full of Christians, neutered and beat the shite out of the KKK.

We don't see Muslims doing that whatsoever.

There's no hope whatsoever for the Mideast and attempts to spread any semblance of western civilization and has already been tried many times through the past 100 years and it always fricking failed hard including operation Iraqi freedom. They're beyond hope and worth saving.

The moderate segments of muslim nations still approve the sentiments of their fundamentalists.

What the Mideast needs are strong tyrannical dictators that can keep the nutjobs like ISIS and Boko Harem in check and quiet but still be dictators that the western world can control and influence. Saddam was that perfect dictator and we absolutely fricked up removing him from power.

We don't see moderate and reasonable Muslims expressing their outrage and contempt for extremists IN OUR MEDIA

Because it doesn't sell

again, i cant speak for all muslims. But the ones i work with and know are totally against isis. I just dont like saying "all muslims" are bad. They are not... now i cant say what percent are or not, but it doesnt represent all of them. The ones in the middle easy may be too afraid to stand up to them, who knows. But isis does not represeny all muslims views.

You don't find someone being stoned to death, beheaded, tossed off a building, or burned in a cage a worse act of EVIL than what happened in Newton?
