Been following along while sifting through the crap…glad y’all made out pretty well and hoping cleanup is smooth

Thanks man. Been cleaning up debris, limbs, branches etc and assessing this morning. No damage to house or vehicles. Sections of both side yard fences down but thats it. Little plastic backyard shed looks untouched. Absolutely gorgeous day today.

Where was the wind sheer?

Did you not see it collapse as it came ashore. Didnt save folks from the wind, bc it was too late. Recon fix went from 959 to 971 in one pass.

Your question is why did the storm hold up so well vs the shear?

Answer is enhanced outflow and thus convective ability due to position relative to the upper level jet.

Wonder if Jay got a tornado or mesovortex or something.

We definitely got tornados. One looks to have gone down the street. Flung my shed into pieces into my woods. Its super bad on my street then the damage just basically ends abruptly. There's a ton of broken trees but they all broke away from the homes luckily. Given the severity of the weather, there was a lot of good luck it seems. A downed tree actually jammed on top of my neighvors fence post and kept the entire fence from blowing down. Instead, its just leaned over for maybe 30 feet and can be fixed easily.

Update: I did not keep my shed.

You gotta paint them the proper blue...
