Data from the CDC shows that obesity began skyrocketing in the 80's. People in the 60's and 70's were not fat. They really weren't fat in the 80's either. The rate of obese children held steady at about 5% until 1980. By 1987 or so it had reached 10%. It's about 21% now. This is a VERY recent phenomenon.

You’re right but the real culprit was actually Congress and the USDA with the implementation of the misguided Food Pyramid which emphasizes inordinate carbohydrate consumption over healthy fats and protein.

Add to that the corn lobby pushing to introduce corn syrup into nearly every product.

Diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome took off with corn syrup and the Food Pyramid which is still endorsed and urged by dietitians.

Not enough room here to chat about the myriad causes of obesity and it’s effects. Subscribing to the theory that obese people are lazy is just as much a lazy generalization.

Seems like in order to keep yourself in shape, you need to afford healthier food (which is more expensive) supplements,

Are you saying that you believe most "Mexican women" are wealthy? What point are you trying to make?

Thought it was pretty obvious that I’m saying there are an ungodly number of fat people, regardless of income.
