part of the olol syatem
FWIW, reticence to prescribe NSAIDs might be d/t the hematuria.

Stop going to CVS for your medical care

Can't believe this has a bunch of upvotes. Isn't the OT always blaming doctors for the opioid crisis?
Can't have it both ways

I don't think this is medical fraud, but bad medical care and practices.
I would only consider it to be fraud if they charged you for seeing a specialist copay each time but she only saw a nurse practitioner.
That happened to me at an orthopedist this year, I should have complained, but didn't. But I never went back too.
Thats why i am trying find out what level of visit she was charged for or if they claim an np saw her.
To the other posters...
We did bring her to the ER. She did have a kidney stone, easily diagnosed with an xray. Also had an bad kidney infection as well.
Also thanks to everyone for the input. Mom hates to make waves but i think we need to on this.

What’s your loss injury? Call the Medicare hot line you could tell them that your mom wasn’t even present during surgery when medicare was billed for a 10k for a procedure the response will be the same. Go ahead call get operator number 4 who is an affirmative action hire & Good luck with getting a federal prosecutor to listen to your piss ant claim. Now multiply this by 5000! See how that works out.

First off, it wasnt medicare.
As for loss injury, i dont even know what that has to do with this. But a kidney infection can cause HUGE problems for the elderly including a lovely case of deadly sepsis.
Federal prosecutor? What on earth are you talking about? My intent is to file a fraud report with the insurance because they need to know.
Are you thinking i was filing a lawsuit? What on earth would I sue for? Insurance paid the clinic, not me. Im just trying report possible fraud so that others will not be subjected to the same treatmemt.

switch offices
That has already been done.
One of the funniest things is that if you go to their website, it appears to be a lingerie site that is all written in some asian language.

Switch offices ASAP and get your mom checked out. I would switch to an office that isn’t affiliated with OLOL.
If the insurance co gives you a hard time about switching, let them know the reason why.
OLOL in general has gone to shite since they’ve became the new state charity system.
Keep an eye on the insurance billing claims from the office. If they are charging you for services that are not rendered, then file a report.

I would have taken my Mom elsewhere after the first visit.

Even if they bill appropriately, you can still file a patient grievance. You will hear back within 7 days.

I have high BP so sometimes they ask ne to come in and get it rechecked (which I usually refuse to do... no need when it's reading was just caused by pain.) When I do they don't charge my insurance.
The clinic needs to be reported to both her insurance and your state health board. It sure sounds like at a minimum they are violating medical ethics.
