All should be considered equal in the eyes of the law, no matter their circumstances and/or back ground. Their job should be to protect and serve no matter the victim.
Nah, there’s crimes that deserve more focus on solving them than others. Murders, rapes, etc. Locating who dumped a junkies body shouldn’t be near the top of their list. If this was a random white dude from BR, they wouldn’t have even wasted their time.

They always seem to offer information to the police. No idea why they are deciding to not do it now. The streets 'know' when one of their own gets killed because its usually a beef. A random robbery turned murder could go unknown like this
I was told this weekend by someone in a significant city/parish position (not law enforcement so take it for what it's worth) that the streets DO know who it is, but in this case, they fear those connected to that killing enough to not give even a hint to the cops.

Yep. If we had video footage it's obviously not very useful. All we have is an eye witness that could have been describing half of the people that live around where that happened.

If Perkins the “Stanka” would have just dialed 911 and reported he death of Nathan, he probably would not have been charged with anything related to his death.
But instead he stripped Nathan down and rolled him up like a blunt.
He then put him in his 2nd hand stolen/rented hoopty and road around with him for a few days with Nathans body in the trunk before dumping the body.
The only silver lining is that that a career criminal like “Stanka” is taken off the streets, hopefully forever.

or they somehow match the gun to the crime.
Not to hijack the thread but this is a distinct possibility. We had a case here where dude murders someone for their Rolex watch and then disappears. Couple months later, killer’s kid accidentally shoots himself. Well the cops had the foresight to run forensics on the gun and the bullet.
Boom - matches it to the murder scene and dude is now in prison for life. Holding out hope the perp didn’t dump the gun.

Just read the arrest warrant. Is there a breakdown of the occurrences prior to this? How'd he get mixed up with these people if he was at Happys or the strip club?

I could see getting caught up at the strip club…. But this dude took off walking into the hood hunting down crackheads and ghetto prostitutes and hopped in a car with some hoodrats and went to a crack house to get fricked up. Pretty insane story. I cant imagine the level of fricked up this dude had to be or really wanting to get high to think that was a good idea.

It’s been posted here about 30 times. He left Happy’s Pub and walked East….at 1:30am. Headed for trouble. Dropped his phone 4 blocks away from Happy’s

At his age there is a 100% chance this wasn't the first time he had done something like this. I speak from experience unfortunately.

Why would he leave the women and bring Millard only to the house, if he didn’t have altered motives to rob or kill him?
Maybe because the black guy (probably homeless) and the black prostitute would want to use drugs also but they didn't have money, so Stanka left them instead of them freeloading
Then he took Millard who did have cash to the house to do drugs.
Just a thought but honestly who knows what a Crack dealer and some Crack heads (including Millard) were thinking at 4:30 in the morning.
It's crazy how bad Millard wanted to get high to walk the streets asking random people, then jumping in a busted up hoopty Camry with Stanka and friends, and to even enter that trap house that was pictured. All the while knowing he's supposed to meet people on the jobsite at 8am.

So he just picked a direction, headed for the ghetto (good chances of finding in BR whichever direction chosen I suppose), just started asking random people he encountered for drugs? I guess this so unfathomable to me because it is so high risk and he seemingly was well-functioning or appeared to have it together.

Yeah the POS is a career criminal and the current charges he’s facing will only tally to his felony count. Hopefully, the DA tries him as a habitual offender with as many felony convictions he has. The tPOS is a menace to society.

It's higher risk now with fentanyl being so prevalent. Just buying drugs on the street isn't as risky as you might think. I've done it thousands of times. Got robbed at gun point one time. Got sold fake drugs or no drugs probably 25 times. Basically there's a 95% + chance if you try to buy drugs on the street you're going to get exactly what you want. Thank God I was never arrested. In my experience most black neighborhoods where there's lots of drugs they don't just randomly attack white people. They just sell you the drugs.
Eta to a normal person it is very risky

Pretty bold to be driving around in a stolen car for days with a dead body in the trunk where there was a BOLO out for BRPD on the stolen car. Most squad cars have license plate scanners in the front of the vehicle which relays plate information to the Officers on board computer.
The affidavit says besides spray painting various parts of the car that the license plates were changed frequently.

Yes, he likely did as you said- “So he just picked a direction, headed for the ghetto (good chances of finding in BR whichever direction chosen I suppose), just started asking random people he encountered for drugs?”
This apparently was not Nathans first rodeo.
Investigators did say that there is footage of him stumbling, and walking in to bushes.
I don`t think that footage has been released to the public yet.
The one video I saw, he did look to be walking ok.

When a LEO gets behind you at a red light, they will randomly enter your plate information into their onboard computer, which is linked to multiple databases. These databases include OMV records, criminal history, open warrants, drivers license status, ect ect. Moreover, if a hit comes back, LE has probable cause to make a traffic stop. Even if the plate was switched, it will undoubtedly come back to a different make and model of a vehicle. Furthermore, plate scanners are all over the city of Baton Rouge, consistently collecting important data on suspicious activity in areas where they are located.

He actually left Happy's at 11:30

This happens now automatically without manual input.

Just curious - do we know what "jobsite" he was scheduled to be on at 8 am?
Maybe I have missed it but I haven't read where any Baton Rouge companies/business have come out publicly indicating that they were working with Millard on a project
