I would say wrongly educated. Hopes and dreams do not match the salary for the field they studied.

that's on society for forcing college on everyone, acting like it's what you have to do after high school. the salary numbers of bachelors vs high school diploma that everyone sees, etc.

I just laugh when boomers call our generation shitty. we're 20-30 years old and haven't really been in the position to do much yet, other than vote and work. we're 10 years into living on our own without mommy and daddy. hardly a worthy sample size in comparison to the shitfest that is the boomers

I can't disagree with you at all on that.
People should only go to college for specific fields, that actually require a college education. To spend 4 years to get a BA and then go no further, is just crazy. You have all but started out in a large hole and will be 30 before you move out of your mom and dad's house.
I don't think any other generation has been sold a bill of goods that will not deliver than the current generation in college +/- 4 years

That's part of the problem with the current generation, which I'm part of BTW. Too many come out of college thinking they should immediately get the corner office job making 80K+ with all the perks instead of being willing to start at the bottom and paying their dues like every generation before, including the boomers.

until good jobs start waiving their bachelors degree requirement, nothing will change. in house land man jobs now require a degree in a program that just started growing 5-6 years ago. it's absurd.

Speak for yourself. I'm in my early 30's,worked since I was 13, moved out of my "Mommy's house" at 18, have owned a couple homes, and make a good living. No excuses here.

I think you missed the point of my post.
They aren't concerned about the money. They want their job to have a purpose. It was in response to the poster that said this generation doesn't care about society, making a difference, etc.
