I believe the 2012 presidential election was the highest turnout of 18-25 yr olds in a long time.
Most survey's indicate that this generation wants employment that has a purpose and isn't working for a paycheck.
Additionally, the number of college and 2-yr school graduates is at an all-time high.

Great idea.
Unemployment was over 10% in 1982. Joblessness isn't anything new, the ways people adapt to it change over time. The unemployment rate isn't at historical lows.
We'll see if the Boomerangs do as poorly as he boomers. I think it will a tight race. Most of the damage will be done in the voting booth.

Look at the opportunities the Boomers had leaving high school and/or college.
You think similar opportunities exist for the younger generation in as good of numbers? Far from it. The Greatest Generations created those opportunities for the Boomers. The Boomers haven't done the same for their children.
Maybe there would be a higher work ethic if there was work available? Maybe there would be a stronger to desire to leave home if there was a chance for them to be able to support themselves.

The problems associated with the Baby Boomers were caused by the Greatest Generation, and there are several good reads on this (Tom Brokaw's The Greatest Generation is one of them).
An generation that saw the Great Depression first hand, and lived and fought through World War II, attempted to make things easier for those that followed them.
They were so successful at "making things better" that they created an entitled generation.

That is also part of the problem. You have a large number of young people coming out of college that went for no apparent reason, other than they were supposed to. Racked up 100k in loans and will never get that shite paid off. Why, because they did not do their due diligence prior to enrolling to see if what they were going to major in would even pay off the loans they were taking out.
