in business transactions? I mean, is there some info that can not be Emailed for some reason?

Mostly old timers refusing to modernize. It's completely obsolete.

I remember when my hometown bank was the only place in town you could go to use that fancy new "fax" technology.
I bet they still have one, just no need to use it anymore.

Same people that think everyone has to work in the office 5 days a week.

My wife works for an attorney on the real estate side of the business. They have to fax closing documents to some banks because the banks insist they be sent in that manner. No idea why.

Your an idiot if you think everyone in the typical corporate setting can sit at home and be just as productive and engaged in their team and relationships with co workers.

We use them all the time to transfer goods among locations. It's quicker to fax than it is to scan to email and then compose an email. We like to attach paperwork to all transfers, so by receiving a fax, that paperwork already exists.

We still have to use ours for transfer of health documents when a mental hospital sends a client referral. They claim it’s a security issue.

I'm thinking it MAY have something to do with HIPAA compliance? office mgr says that's how they get insurance payments (?) and they come with credit card numbers to run.
makes no sense to me.

Every single time I fax something, I end up having to send multiple times.
Because, they lose it etc.
Drives me insane.

Back in like 2003, my grandma asked me the difference between an email and a fax. She was 83 at the time.
She knew they were basically the same thing.

Nobody is hacking your fax.

They said that about the carrier pigeon but still works for me.
If I want to mass communicate and don't care who reads it, smoke signals work best.

My clinic still receives referrals from doctors via fax. But there has been some issues lately so we have been trying to get them to switch to email.

There are secure ways to send email nowadays, but it was definitely for security at a point in time.
