They must be decent vehicles, 20% of Fayetteville drives one. We have a pretty liberal city with lots of rainbow windsocks flying around though.

Just got a '17 Outback a couple weeks ago for my wife--it's our 4th one in 12 years.

We call it The Puppy Wagon--our 2 big Labaradors love their car rides!

I got the 3.6R this time around and don't regret the decision over the 2.5. There is plenty more power in this one--the wife is not afraid to pull onto the highway now for fear of no acceleration.

I will probably buy one as long as they make them.

If you are already looking at a 2.5i Limited, the 3.6R is only 3k more--go for it.

Enjoy!

They just got them the week I bought mine--I waited for the '17 (Baldwin Subaru in Covington).

My son lives in Seattle, put 280K on a 2000 outback he bought used, no issues, he bought another used Outback and has around 170K on that one, the guy that bought the first one still drives it daily. Almost nothing else is allowed in the Pacific Northwest especially those that are into outdoor sports. Lot of stories about "off-road posers" in 4x4 pickups that move up from the South and swap ends into the ditch on the first icy road they hit, then have to be pulled out by someone in a Subaru. Pickup trucks are so useless in the road conditions they have the only ones you ever see belong to businesses that actually have to haul materials, or someone that recently moved to the area and doesn't know any better.

I chuckle every time I see one of these guys in an F-250 who probably never hauled anything heavier than their dry cleaning.

I bought a used Outback last fall and so far it's been just what I need. Used Outbacks sell for a premium because of the high reliability. I bought it for the AWD, reliability, and ability to haul a kayak in the back or on top. The AWD helps with the dirt roads I drive on and pulling my small boat up a ramp. If you are looking for just reliability then there may be cheaper options just as reliable or close anyway. But I needed some of the features so it was a fairly easy choice for me.
