My first car was a 99 4Runner. It was 9 years old when my parents bought it for me & I drove it for about 10 years. That car got me through high school, undergrad, and 4 years of grad school. It survived multiple accidents (yes, I was stupid), a flood (again, I was stupid; I put it in a flooded ditch), and New Orleans. I cried when I finally had to let it go, but I upgraded to a luxury vehicle (I deserved it!). It was so good to me!

I miss my 96 4Runner.
Red, sunroof, leather and tough.
Traded in on a 99 Suburban, which was fine with kids and stuff. But I miss that 4Runner.

Bronco #1 though.

I'd say that's an actual truck, not an SUV. The precursor to the SUV's were the Bronco II and the S10 Blazer.

I still have a '98 with 185K miles. I've owned it for 15 years and wouldn't be afraid to take it cross country. Still runs great!

I would take any year Suburban or Tahoe over a late 90's Toyota, so I'm going to go with no.

The straw that broke the camels back was a sunroof leak. Could not fathom putting any money in it as I was just hoping to get out of grad school without a car note. The day it rained on my head the whole way home was the last day I drove it. After all it went through I think I got $1500 trading it in. We often joked and said it was worth a good cheeseburger by the time we got rid of it.
