Never heard of snow cream since it doesn't snow in the south.

It's snowing in Tennessee right now.

I'm sure you are well versed in the culinary peculiarities of isolated south pacific islands, seeing as people are expected to know all dishes currently prepared on planet earth regardless of cultural identity. Stop being stupid.

I'm from Alabama, and grew up eating snow cream.

And it hasn't snowed in south Louisiana for 6 years. Even then it was only for a day, and it was unexpected.

I'm not. I just figure most have seen snow and that snow cream was something that they would have done. I learned about it during the 93 blizzard. It's easy to make and I assumed, like OP, it was something that was more of a southern thing than a northern tradition since we rarely get snow and I can't see the Yankees doing it every year in the way that people who rarely see snow do.
You should try it, even if it's the Mayfield version. It's not something worth getting riled over.

Snow ice cream is awesome; not a fan of the lemon colored stuff though.

Not that surpring for LA people, not to have heard of it, but I'm a little surprised of all the AL people having never heard of it. It only shows once or twice a year here, so snow cream was a rare enough treat to be a big deal for a little kid.

Snow isn't a "Southern" thing, a-hole. So Snow Cream wouldn't be a "Southern" thing.
Welcome to logic.
Knoxville is in the South.
It snows in Knoxville.
It snows everywhere in the South.
