That’s not the slightest bit racist...but it it is contradictory to the popular narrative, so people are gonna lash out.

No. It actually comes off as stating the truth.

In essence, all lives do matter... but right now, the focus and energy would better spent on helping those in the minority in this country catch up to where the rest of us are....

It’s not, but it takes the focus off of what’s really important to people who identify as black. I think that’s what bothers them the most. It exposes their racism and bias because they have to ponder on whether your non-black life matters to them.

It doesn’t

No. It’s not. It just misses the point and shows a lack of understanding honestly.

I wonder how far along we’d be if the movement hadn’t alienated 85% of the rest of the country.

God helps those who help themselves. You can’t hand someone the ability to keep up. I review contracts all day and part of that is giving advantages to non-white, African Americans, etc. They don’t win or they frick up the contracts, both due to incompetence. I don’t know how we can help them anymore than we have.

It's not. Only racists think that "all lives matter" is racist.

This s may shock you, but a lot of black folks are "ahead" of where many white folks are.

Apparently,” All” doesn’t encompass blacks?
Ask them,” if all lives don’t matter, what group is excluded?”

I'm not sure why people have to be so intentionally dumb about this, on either side.

The entire point of BLM is that they feel like they don't matter to the police (rightly or wrongly). Responding that all lives matter is akin to keeping the status quo in their minds, and the status quo is not acceptable to them.

On the other hand, the fact BLM took legit problems with the militarization of the police and tacked on a racial agenda to it really chaps my arse.

Congrats. You are getting the Drew Brees treatment. Sounds like you have been very good to this girl and after 1 seemingly innocuous statement, she now sees you as a racist. If she keeps it up, tell her to go frick herself. You dont need this bullshite in your lives.
yea I wish I could. My wife is beyond sweet to everyone I mean like everyone loves her. I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about her in over 23 years of marriage and she’s sobbing now because her niece thinks she’s a racist

I believe we need legal/ justice reform. I don’t think me kissing the boot of a BLM protestor is the solution. Had they made it truly all- inclusive without their political/ racial agenda; I believe we would be light years ahead of where we are now. But don’t patronize me for your cause.

Absolutely.... and I’ve been pretty consistent in saying they have a responsibility in this matter as well, and they have to do better within their communities as well, at minimum... but there is reason for why we are where we are... systemic injustice and discrimination has been and stll is a thing.... and that has to change, just as much as their actions and communities do.... it’s not a one way street...

It’s not racist. It’s dismissive.

Even if you disagree with particular parts of “the narrative”, there are better ways to respond to someone who is concerned with the well being of minorities than to basically say, “yeah yeah yeah, we’ve all got problems”.

It’s not racist. To say ones life is more important than another’s is egotistical and self centered. All lives do matter - equally
