apple is controlling what files i can send you now. you don't have a gmail address?
Just replied with my new outlook e-mail. If that doesn't work, I'll create a GMail account. I have one, but it contains my real identity.

i know all about converting teh youtubes to the mp3.
i'm such a snob though; i'm used to my private torrent site with FLAC files so if its going into my private collection it has to be a perfect source.

Right But there's a trick(not illegal just a kinda hassle) To get local MP3s from a computer to sync with downloaded playllists on mobile devices.

No way I will out anyone.
I also use PIA VPN, so I will have my tracks personally covered as well.

How does Spotify (premium) compare to the following premium services?
- Pandora
- Google Play
- Amazon
I'm sure there are a few others, but I believe these capture most of the market share.
How would you rank them?
I've tried every major premium streaming service. I don't know why, I just eventually tried enough of them that now I try each one.
Google Play is good, but I never liked the lack of desktop app and I didn't like the layout. Spotify is probably the best all around, but is a little invasive and tries to do too much. A lot of people got pissed because Spotify was trying to sync up your apps (desktop and phone), and the app would track your desktop playback, thereby unnecessarily eating battery.
Apple Music is pretty good, but the apps aren't as good as Spotify and running it through iTunes on desktop is terrible. Deezer has high quality playback, a slightly smaller catalog, and a cool HQ hook up for Sonos users.
Pandora, as discussed in this thread, isn't comparable. Pandora is just free or paid (ad free) streaming radio (rather than pick an album and play it). IMO Pandora has by far the best music discovery of any, but it's just a different service. People saying Spotify is a better value may be right, but Spotify/Apple/etc. radio is a shitty alternative to Pandora.
This week, Pandora launched Pandora Premium, which is going to add Spotify-like streaming to the radio offerings. It's still very new and mobile only right now, so it's a work in progress. It'll be 10 bucks a month for Premium, which I assume will also include ad-free radio that Pandora Plus users pay 5 bucks for right now. I have it but it's too early to provide meaningful feedback.
In theory, Pandora Premium could be the best of the bunch if things go right, because the radio function is just so much better than anyone else.

have you tried google music lately? i've never had a problem with the desktop browser UI.
i dont use the pay service, just the free service so i always have my entire music library wherever i go.

I haven't since I stopped paying for it. But I would prefer a stand alone app if possible. One of my problems with Google/Apple/Amazon is that I have some music (purchased) from each, but I really just want to stream everything and download playlists. I think I'm the exception, as a lot of people like being able to include their own MP3 music, but it always just got in the way for me.
