I'm in the LGD on St Charles and have been since Thursday. Went into Walgreens and many restaurants and almost no one is wearing masks and no one has asked me to wear one. No establishment has asked me for vax status. Maybe it's the chaos of Mardi Gras, but as best as I can tell right now it's completely optional and no one gives a shite. That may change between now and your trip, though.
I was here three weeks ago and went to a Mexican restaurant that's part of a small chain (not trying to narc on them; I like their food because it's superior to many other chain Mexican restaurants). I showed the hostess a pic of a vaccine card on my phone (not mine, since I'm not vaccinated) and had no problems getting in.
Hope it's still this lax during your stay.
