It’s not overrated if you have family and friends to enjoy it with.

That goes for most things in life.

The amount of plastic crap that is thrown all over the streets disgusts me.

It started to suck when people decided they needed to take over half a city block with ropes and tarps and leave it out there for 2 weeks.

The suburb parades aren't 10 percent as good as the ones in the city but you don't have to deal with the krewe of Chad types out there

Pretty much. And that's basically what it is other than Bourbon St. (groups of friends and families).

Overrated— going to Lee circle or the quarter without a pot to piss in.

Underrated— knowing someone who lives on St. Charles ave where you can fire up the grill, drink some beer, and enjoy the parade.

In New Orleans though, it just covers up the normal trash that's usually all over the street. They are pretty amazing with the cleanup following the parades though.

Damn bro! That’s way too young to suffer from hardening of the attitudes.

Hopefully it can be reversed befor it’s too late.

I do drink occasionally but I don’t go hard in the paint like I did when I was underage. Just enjoy a beer here and there or a glass of scotch

You sound like a boring old frick

Now that ive reached the age where getting piss drunk is less appealing, Mardi Gras kind of sucks. Just a bunch of dumbass people, mostly tourists, throwing garbage and puking all over the streets. Not to mention that it’s a pain in the arse to drive anywhere around town. What are the OT’s thoughts on the carnival season?

Nah you missed the point. Its like a new orleans christmas onn steriods, supposed to meet up with all friends, go to a ton of socials, parties at peoples houses, balls, concerts, etc. Mardi gras is a time of celebration, not just about drinking and catching junk.

Highly overrated. It’s nothing but a giant bug light for filth, trash, and crime.

The crowds at the parades where I live are nothing like they were when I was kid. I still try and go to a few of the bigger parades if I can though.

If I miss it... it’s not a big deal.
