Just pointing them out. They're who most of the old people watch. But yes, all of the 24 hour news channels are garbage.

From a bit of quick Googling:
quote:

MSNBC's median age at 70, Fox News's at 69 and CNN's, 67.

So yeah, Fox is in the middle at worst, all three are old people channels. Dead wrong on the "Most of the old people watch Fox" contention.

Yes, 1000%

I actually find myself watching Hallmark channel cause I’m disgusted with the violence, sex and utter bullshite they showcase now. That and the Alaska people on whatever channel that is.

Daytime tv is even worse.

Nothing but Judge Whoever shows.

Its not just the majors. Media in general is declining in importance. ESPN’s ratings for the championship game was shite.

When the Boomer generation has mostly died off, look for telecom companies to try and seize digital TV bandwidth for mobile use. They’ll argue that broadcast tv is a dead medium and the spectrum should be put to better use.

but somehow these ratings companies will tell you there’s millions watching these shows. I truly have no idea

Well, networks and advertisers are the ones who hire ratings companies.

I am usually not a tin foil hat guy, but if I am the Neilson Ratings Company, and my livelihood is dependent on the existence of networks to rate, the last thing I would want to do is kill said networks, thereby killing TV advertising dollars.

I only watch the local news and whatever old movie is on amc. I’d rather be on tigerdroppings.

i have a plex server that is bursting at the seams with movies and tv shows i'll probably never have time to watch.

we pick a series and delve in. i dont think network tv has been relevant since seinfeld and friends.

ABC and Disney bent the knee and brought Tim Allen back

That’s how you know they are struggling

I liked Seinfield, watched Friends because of the girlfriend, wasn’t hard to not watch with the two hotties. Sopranos is my favorite show ever, but I just don’t watch a lot of tv as I get older.

Used to love NCIS, haven’t watched it since all the regulars left but I saw a commercial the other day for the new season. So it’s still going.
