A spouse(man or woman) who lets themselves go does so because of a lack of fear - a lack of fear that their spouse will leave them.
I'd say the same goes for being a beanpole that looks like a teenage boy and can't gain mass like a regular man. Know anyone like that?

It's harder to stay in shape after 30. Fact.
Studies have showed that metabolism and test level drops are not near what they try to make you believe, it's a built in excuse.
I'll be 35 this week, don't work out at all anymore and just stay active, and I'm in the same exact shape that I was at 25 with an above avg physique, while eating terrible and destroying my body
So fake news

Of course.
If your partner is fat, they don't respect you.

Divorce is absolutely terrible. If you have kids it's inexcusable. Adultery, abuse, maybe. But if you divorce your spouse brcause you don't like the way they look anymore you're a bad person and a disgrace to America it is that simple
You were a downvoter in the other thread

No, but people definitely need to value their health more.

The obese statistics in America are insane. If you're a fat parent, you're part of the problem. I one hundred percent believe there is a level of fatness for kids that should be considered child abuse.
Oh I agree. I am a big advocate for legal consequences for enormously obese people. But you have to understand, obesity and divorce are both terrible, destructive, degenerate human acts that contribute to thr degredation of society. They're both wrong. You can't fight the obesity epidemic through divorce any more than you can fight it by making fat people smoke crack.

So one person has to honor the other while the other just throws this out the window?

I'd say letting yourself go flirts with not forsaking and not remaining true.

If it was as easy you say, everyone would be in great shape. You admittedly do nothing to help your health and fitness. You're either an outlier genetically or full of shite. Pick one.

If you married someone for temporary pleasures of the flesh, then shame on you for marrying for all the wrong reasons

Peg Bundy was fire
That's the joke of the show. Al, for some miraculous reason, thought she was hideous.

There are a lot of girls who feel once they are married they can let themselves go. Don't marry those. They are easy to identifiy. Also, divorce once there goes half your money, divorce 2 times you only get 25% of your money and so on. So until you figure out how to find a comparable women who you can trust and want to share your life with dont get married and please don't have kids

And if they married you so they could "hook" you into a commitment and pull a switcharoo so they could eat whatever whenever they want - aren't they ALSO marrying for "pleasures of the flesh" i.e. Food?

"Letting one's self go" is more indicative of another problem such as laziness, depression, or health issue. I would want to care for my wife in that moment as I vowed on my wedding day.
If she becomes so depressed or angry or lazy that it's abusive towards me, then I would think about divorce. But outside of that, I'm looking for ways to motivate her to be healthy outside of a selfish sexual requirement.
