So the plants are booming, what else? Food, entertainment? Was raised there and smart enough to get out after I graduated. Moved back years later thinking it had progressed. Nope, sitll sucks.. Guess it's great if all you want to do is be an operator, eat at Chilli's, and go gamble after.

It's weird how things are being built everywhere. It's like BR.

The ethane plant is a go. The big Sasol project will not happen. Never.

wut?

there are tons of local restaurants and tons of bar options. LC also doesn't have a segregated bar scene like Laffy/BR. everyone is welcome

I think in a thread several years ago, Cowboys in Lake Charles was described as both "highway 14 Walmart but with alcohol and drugs" as well as a "dysfunctional United Colors of Benneton ad".

Tons of bar options? Have you ever been outside of LC? I can count on one hand the number of decent bars in LC and still have some fingers left over.

Why is the bridge so high? What goes/went underneath it and to where?

i did live in BR for 7 years, which is over half of my adult life

let me ask you this: what exactly are you looking for in a bar?

i'm not sure why that bridge is so high, but there was a controversy a few years ago when a new proposal came out that was too low for some black-owned business upriver, and the claims of racism were unloaded

Well is Sulpher considered metropolitan Lake Chuck? If so heading south that tit bar on the right has an incredibly hot blonde midget dancing and I smashed the shite out of it.

So there's that.

yes

and if there is billions of dollars flowing through the metro area, that's going to trickle down in all sorts of ways

look at the boom Laffy has been soaking up the past 10+ years due to the artificially high price of oil

all that culture costs, and it isn't possible without solid industry providing lots of money to flow down

A good bar has a decent tap selection, good atmosphere, good service, and is not constantly full of rednecks. Also, no smoking helps.

Well it just so happens that rednecks don't frequent bars with the other qualities that I mentioned.

Start naming some bars.

I've been fairly happy with the schools in the area. And anyone who says we already have traffic here, have never sat in real traffic. I do think that the infrastructure will have to be will need to be looked at with this huge influx. Nelson road is OOC. Can they not fix the school parking issue? Seriously.
I would like some additional food and night spot options, but we actually have some more than decent places here. The Darrel's special is still not great.

This is the most positive post I've ever had about the area.
