Probably not the best attitude to have when looking for a job

I wanted to call in sick because my son kept me up until 3AM. I didn't because I didn't want to be accused of partying too much for the Superbowl.

Yeah it always sucks when you’re legitimately sick on a day that corresponds with a high level of fake calls

Idk but I’m at work feeling like shite. Think I’ll be calling it quits after lunch.

If your team wasn't playing to start with it is definitely trashy.

If your team was playing in the SB it's expected you would have taken the day off beforehand just in case. So yes, still trashy.

I lose so many employees to parades and the super bowl. If you can't find a parade to go to on your own time there is something wrong. If you're stuck working for the super bowl I have 40 tv's with it on

Yeah, but it kinda depends on the point of view of your superiors.

If somebody is going to call in sick, I'm the type of guy that says ok, after the Superbowl, understandable. Might as well take a day off because the person is gonna be worthless at work anyway and people do have a life outside of work, so no big deal.

Ii remember hearing a few years back that this is the #1 ranked call-in day in America. For the super bowl that the Seahawks beat the shite out of the Broncos me and a buddy watched it at pluckers then went out to spankys in prairieville after (one of the few bars open till 2 on a Sunday). He called in the next day, ii made it to work for 6am and was fricking miserable. Ever since then I’ve taken it easy for the super bowl

I don't know if it's trashy but it is not very smart if you are looking for a raise. Take the day off well in advance to avoid any issues.
