Or is your only hope to coax your executive functions to steer upstream over time?

Can you change your epigenetics in relation to your own choices? Does neuroplasticity apply to lower levels of brain function?

Or is everyone screwed after the age of 5?

IDK. I can tell you when I read or stress my self with learning (new job, a course, learning a new task, etc) I can physically feel my brain is different.

No

But you can exercise your brain to create new neural connections.

Mushrooms can reprogram your brain. John's Hopkins is doing it with heroin addicts and it is working.

If it weren't for psilocybin, I'd be a politician or investment banker!

You can thank the extraterrestrial fungi for making the world a little less evil.

You can learn to ride a backwards bike at any age. It just takes months of practice.
Of course, once you learn how, you can no longer ride a regular bike.

I don't know about all that, but I can tell you that the older you get, the easier it is not to give a shite about things you once thought were important.

If it weren't for the magic mushrooms I would be without a job and a burden to society. Instead it is right the opposite. Proper moderation and adequate timing and the world is yours to conquer. It isn't too late to be an investment banker
