Wasn't necessary? How was that determined?
Wife was getting ready to have heart surgery. On the day she was getting labs done, she was scheduled an appointment with a cardiologist who wasn't her normal Dr. and wasn't going to be involved at all in her surgery. I called and asked why she even saw him in the first place, they had no idea, and refunded my co-pay

How does a PCP get over an hour behind schedule for an appointment 30 minutes after opening time?
Is he hung over or just late for work?
Another possibility is a particularly challenging Jumble that morning.

They overbook to make more money

This simply isn't true.
Maybe not all of 'em do it...but most of 'em that I have seen over the years do. And if you're so certain that they don't do it, explain how they schedule their patients, DOC.

The vast majority of clinics have a "no show" rate from day to day. It can vary depending on the clinic, time of year, etc. Some clinics here in BR that I know of have a "no show" rate approaching 50%. It is necessary to try to factor this into the daily schedule. It is true that your provider makes money by seeing patients and every attempt is made to maximize clinic time on a day to day basis. Due to a lot of variables on both sides, sometimes this balance simply doesn't work out.
I'm not excusing ridiculous wait times. Far from it. Every provider needs to make maximum effort to respect everyone's time. If your provider consistently makes you wait an unreasonable amount of time I would shop around for a new one. Just remember that one of these days you might be the one who needs that extra time from your provider that makes them run late.

The mechanic would have them schedule the trans work at another time if he were already booked. Been there, seent it happen.
You are 100% correct. And you know what would happen if a doctor did that, and the patient went home and died, or was hospitalized for his BP or some other issue he wanted to talk about before the doctor demanded they reschedule? sued!

Expect it? Yeah. Get it? No.

He said he'd only give me OxiClean. Total waste of time, man!

If only there was someone sitting at a desk near you that could easily answer the question.

Tough shite guy. I ain't getting out of this chair until I've perused all threads of interest to me on at least the first page of the OT. Plus I prefer to dole out free advice to jabronis on this board rather than talk to you patients with you're incessant bitching and whining.
Well played. If I actually had a doctor with your sense of humor I’d wait an hour without complaining.

Then I guess you will have to include the 4 long winded patients that came before you as defendants with the doctor. Or every singular issue patient that arrives with high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes and wants to talk about them. And the patients who can't produce a referral, but want the front office to spend 20 minutes trying to obtain it for them. Or the patients who can't produce past records, but want the MA to spend 20 minutes tracking down the PCP to get them. And of course the late patients. And the patients that provide invalid insurance info prior to arrival. Or the insurance companies who authorize 3 visits on the referral instead of the 12 months requested by the PCP. And the insurance companies that require PA's prior to in office procedures. Gonna be lots of defendants in that suit...
Sounds like you know those issues are going to arise way ahead of time and could actually plan accordingly to space out the visits. But wait, you don’t overbook, right?
