I know plenty of people who have fallen for online chicks. In some cases they actually turned out to be pretty damn hot. Also in all cases they turned out to be insane.

It's very possible, Walt. I had one a little over a year ago that I still cannot get out of my mind. Best in bed ever, but crazy as hell wasn't doing anything to get better.
I have met a number of other nice girls on-line as well, but you really have to do some vetting. Even then, there is no guarantee. I had one I went out with this past weekend, that I probably should have just said, "thanks but no thanks" and drove home. It would have been a hell of a lot cheaper. For starters she probably 150lbs more than what her pictures showed. However, I tried to make the best of the evening and take her to dinner. It was going to be a "no poon" night for this damned old tigah.
That said, for every couple of bombs, I have actually had a decent one from time to time. You just have to be careful. In the event one should come home with you, just have all the money and other valuables locked up, keep a gun hidden nearby, and don't let on to the gun. Good idea to really get to know the girl before you bring her home. Probably better to get a motel/hotel room for a bit until you really know her well enough to invite her into your home. I say all of that in reference to one that I thought I knew and didn't. She left before I woke up, and along with her departure went a half gallon of vodka and almost a quarter of my food pantry. It wasn't worth pressing charges over, but I made it known to her that I didn't want to see her again.
So yeah, it's possible, but just be careful.
