Is it ok to attend happy hours after you are married?

Is it ok to attend happy hours with just female co-workers without your wife?
After I got married I slacked off going to work happy hours. Mainly because I'm to busy. If I do go I make sure there is at least one other guy there. I can't stand the work gossip talk and would like to talk sports and etc with someone at happy hour. If it is only females going then I don't go.
My friend who is married always attends his happy hours when he is the only guy there all the time. In fact he likes it that way and does not see a issue with it. When I was single this was not a problem but I don't agree with this now.

Married people are still awake during happy hour so it's the only time you might catch them out drinking. After 8 pm they are in bed.

Yes. Hopefully you aren't a cheating prick and hopefully your wife isn't so insecure that you can't hang out with colleagues after work because they happen to be female.
That seems absurd to me. There is a level of trust there in my marriage. My wife wouldn't think twice about it.

Well I have women Directors, AVPs, and VPs in my company and I'd treat happy hour as a networking opportunity just like I would with male bosses.

Definitely. If it is just you and one female coworker then you need to be a bit careful you aren't giving the wrong impression.
My happy hour attendance didn't change much after marriage. However, after kids it became virtually non-existent. Hard to justify working all day, then going to happy hour, and then getting home right at or after the kid's bed time.

It depends on how much you value your marriage.
Personally I try to not put myself into positions where temptations may be presented. I just don't see the point in it.

Depends on how your spouse feels about it. Seems like it could introduce some unnecessary problems or potential problems. Even if she's against it and kind of wrong about feeling that way, her feelings should not be ignored. Would you be okay with her boozing with other guys?
