Yes, the Saints used to have a dog named Gumbo that would run out and retrieve the kicking tee after kickoffs. However, they got in trouble when he pooped on the field in the Superdome during a game.
Nah, Gumbo was the St. Bernard that just kinda sat there and is now the name of the furry that entertains the crowd.
Fetch Monster was the Australian Shepherd that used to run out and retrieve the tee after Saints kickoffs. I think they got rid of Fetch Monster right about 2000 because they were cleaning house and didn't want to fly the dog and her owners in from Houston for every game anymore.
Pity, too, because Fetch Monster was about the only winner on the entire Saints payroll about that time.

Seen that name way too much recently. But it's not bad, name it whatever you want it's your dog.

No. No imagination in it. It's not at all "clever" due to being done so much by others. Langniappe)sp? also in this same boat. Go original.

Gumbo is starting to lose its originality. Try some other New Orleans or LA sounding name.

Cujo is only acceptable name for breed
How did an African name made famous by a guy that slaughtered white people in a slave revolt become a name for a St Bernard? I've seen the movie, but where'd that come from?
