Admiring a war criminal. Is this you talking or your brain tumor?
Not admiring a war criminal, just acknowledging that his efforts were much needed and further success would have made for an even better US.

Nah, but perhaps for believing an all powerful central government trumping the will of a people is a net positive for society. That’s something a liberal dem would believe in wholeheartedly as long as it fit their world view.

You are admiring his activities and wishing he did more. I guess burning Atlanta wasn't enough for you. He was going to make it to the ocean no matter what. Burning cities and stealing peoples food was unnecessary.

I’d say I have things pretty good in modern day USA, so I’m fine with the way past events turned out.

Abolishing the South in its entirety would have been in the best interest of humanity.

Yep, the South had no interest in dominating the North the way the North did to the South. The South just wanted to go it's separate way. Politically the South would have attracted mostly conservatives and the North (and Left Coast) would have remained the liberal Mecca that it is today. I'm not so sure that a separation of Red and Blue states isn't inevitable.

Which America? The South didn’t want to control the Union States. They wanted to choose their own government for themselves and secede from the union. The union states would have made their own bed, and nobody in the south would have cared one way or the other.
