Is Divorce less trashy the longer the marriage lasted?

Or even more trashy ? I mean, it’s generally accepted that a marriage that lasts six months is trashier than one that lasts 25 years, right? On the other hand, if you can’t work it out after 25 years, that’s pretty trashy, right? So which is it?

Good question.
A six month marriage and divorce is more openly trashy.
A 25 year marriage and divorce is likely to have closeted trashiness.
I'll give the nod to 6 months. If you're trashy and no one knows/sees it, does it really count?

I've never understood how people get divorced after like 40 years.

as long is there some decorum(no physical, sexual, alcohol abuse,) and an air of civility in the home, I think that's doing it as gracefully as you can, as long as you've exhausted all hope of reconciliation

My aunt and uncle did this, but they're still good friends.
Lot of family suspect Aunt Ellen is gay though and wanted to explore that outside the bounds of marriage.
They were married almost 30 years, and have been divorced 20 years now. They still see each other at least once a week. It's bizarre to everyone else in the family. She's even good friends with the lady he later married.
