St Louis and NOLA are definitely worse

Statistically yes, but it is skewed because the nicer parts of those cities aren't actually in the city proper. St. Louis city is unincorporated, while the suburbs are in St Louis county and each little area has its own town with separate taxe bases, demographics, crime stats, etc. if you drive due west from downtown for 20 minutes, you'll go through about 6 completely different cities.

NOLA is much the same with Metairie, North Shore, etc.

If you sampled the entire metro areas, St. Louis and NOLA would likely fall back in line with metro areas of the same size.

There is a common denominator of all the dangerous cities.

The fact that LA and New York are both amazingly safe makes Chicago look much worse than it actually is.

Jackson #11. We are finally out of the top 10! Woohoo!

They've finally murdered enough people to lower the crime rate.

Chester, PA is always high on these types of lists. Why is that? Anyone ever been there?

I have. It is a small city on the border of DE and PA. Used to be a blue collar city where the taxpaying population moved or died off. Now, it mostly consists of non-taxpayers.

Literally if you aren't on the south side you see nothing that resembles poverty or Iraq, go to the south side and you're in a warzone. The north side where I live is extremely nice with tons more stuff to do than most cities in the world.

Come on you guys. We can do better. We can't let those Yankees and Democrats outdo us on something as simple as murder.

Can't speak for NYC but LA has done a decent job at making south central a safer place

lived there in mid 2000s when Chicago had a much better reputation for crime. I still heard about girls getting held up in Wrigleyville(on a Friday night) all the time.

A lot of my friends back then have left the city because of the crime swelling up.
to be fair they had outgrown the lifestyle and wanted family friendly areas, but still their comments were targeted towards the crime.

It is a strange incestuous state. People from Delaware usually do not leave and they are not very friendly to outsiders. The upper part of the state is not bad, but they seem to be envious of the people that live on the Main Line in PA and West Chester, PA. The Slower Lower is similar to Alabama.

It is the home of DuPont. The DuPonts own or have owned almost all of that state at some time or another.

There are some parts of NYC that you just can't clean up and make safe.

I held off my post about Delaware waiting for yours. I have no experience of it besides I95, but you never meet anyone from Delaware. It's almost like the state is a total fabrication.
