Does it matter? Most scientists are not educators. We need people who are able to understand leading edge science and translate it for students and the general public. There are few scientists that are both good researchers and good educators. No question, Bill Nye is about as good a science educator as anyone.

There is really no evidence this statement applies to Bill Nye. He is good, however, at reading talking points off of cue cards and acting like a nerd.

Your particular criticism of Bill Nye not having a "climatology degree" is stupid because the study of climatology is typically too specific of a field to have a degree in. Bill Nye considers science to be a belief system but science is not about beliefs, it's about evidence-based knowledge.
Most of the "evidence" for AGW relies on inaccurate data that was improperly gathered. Wrong conclusions result from using data that is wrong to begin with.
