Buddy of mine got is BA at LSU, internshipped with the Bears the summer before KAtrina and even worked the game against the Saints at Tiger Stadium. He then got his MS at Oklahoma and got a job with the Saints. Worked that a few years and quit, said the money isn't worth the hours.

My brother tried it and ended up finishing his degree in finance and only did his minor in sports management. Worked for several minor league clubs and the ACC before hanging it up for good. He said point blank that it is 99% who you know and 1% luck. Former athletes and owner's family and friends get the good gigs.

They do offer an internship. It's in the course catalog

The question is do you think you will learn anything in the sports management program? And not sure what you are trying to say about have a bsFinance

I know a guy who is an NFL agent that has a psychology degree. Don't think it really matters

Because I've read NFL teams tend to go for guys who have business degrees like accounting and finance. Plus for sports management it could show I know the business side of a sports organization (plus I get an internship with lsu)

Everyone has a internship(not to completely disregard it). They can fill a hole for a position with numerous other people who have actual work experience or internships.
The reason I suggested the analytics program is you can learn an actual skill. And better than internship works on projects with the sports programs that can provide results that will be marketable to a future employer.

Wanting to join an NFL team
due diligence would be to investigate the qualifications of present position holders in the league and to blue sky what you would really want to do and then do pitches until you are good at it.
seems like a very long shot unless you know someone.
at least figure out what you can contribute.
or would need to learn to add to what you know.
WTF is your undergrad degree in?

No if u want to make $28k a year. Worked for LSU while in school, did an internship in the NFL. The perks(suites and tickets for other events) aren't worth the pay.
A masters isn't going to get u anything.

Find a university with a well run and reputable athletic program and intern for them. Develop a good reputation. Work with as many sports-related venues as possible to get your name out.
Accept that you won't make any money for a while and bust your arse developing contacts. If you are good and a little lucky you will have a shot at an NFL team.
There is some good money to be made, just don't expect to get rich anytime soon.

I had two friends who both pursued this and both moved on. It's actually not the finding an internship that's the problem, it's that there will always be someone to take less money to do your job. It's the big leagues so of course everyone will be doing whatever it takes to make it, no matter how long. If you've got a connection, then yeah it's better but if not, be prepared to make peanuts for awhile.
