It depends on where the MBA comes from and what your goals are. Do you want to be an engagement lead at MBB or work in private equity? It will help a whole lot to have an MBA from one of the top schools. But there are a lot of good careers out there where it won’t do a lot for you.

Stanford MBA isn’t the same as Southeast Louisiana University MBA?

As far as learning to be better at business (whatever that means) - not at all. You can read a textbook all day about certain things, but doing/experiencing them is where the learning actually happens.
If you need it to check a box* or you’re using it to get some good connections** then yes, it might be worth it.
*make sure your employer pays for it
**this only applies if you’re going to a select few schools that someone mentioned above. You won’t be rubbing elbows with blue bloods who have Roman numerals after their names at the Western Governor’s Grand Canyon Phoenix Institute of Technology.
ETA: the above advice also applies for a lot of these bullshite degrees that admissions departments have conjured up in the last 5-10 years to increase enrollment and justify their bloated existence - master’s of law (not an LLM), master’s of legal studies, master’s of energy law. Give me a fricking break. There are legitimate, rigorous, worthwhile masters (i.e. nonterminal) degrees, but they typically follow worthwhile bachelors degrees (accounting, engineering, nursing***).
***As an aside, I knew a guy with a PhD in nursing who was making retarded money. And he got a kick out of making the doctors refer to him as “Dr. So and So.”
