Seeing it around in the 400s, so I'm not asking in the context of the inflated MSRP you see everywhere. In general, I wasn't looking at the mesh style corporate office chair look, but these things can move and bend any way you need it to it seems.

Anyone have experience? Better suggestions in that range or less? I was hoping to stay under 300 but will reach for something awesome. I keep my chairs for a long long time.

I remember sitting in a design meeting and they were selecting chairs for a 300 person office. The furniture rep had given the client several chairs with the Aeron being one of them. At the time, I really wanted an Aeron as it gave you designer street cred, this was 15 years ago when it had first come out and was getting lots of hype. At this meeting, the client told the rep that the Aeron was the least favorite chair of the majority of people in the office. I can't remember what the favorite was but I have sat in Aerons several times since then and they are fine but not worth the price IMO....but I'm cheap too.

$400 is way low.

It is really the last desk chair you will buy and they are very comfortable.

ETA: you are looking at vwell-used chairs. They are junk. Do not buy.

shite, an array of responses.

As dumb as I was feeling, I've been looking hard at the Secretlab Titan chair. It's a gaming chair, whatever that means, but it has a lot of the same features, plus it reclines a good deal. I like to kick my feet up on the desk with a bourbon and watch TV in the office sometimes.

Ive heard the PU leather cracks immediately, though, plus a gamer chair seems weird.

This is for my office at home, if that matters.

What's this mean? Various sites have them in the 4-550 price. Is that a specific site or a standard?

If anything were the symbol of the dot com crash, this would be it.

They're not bad. Not the most comfortable chairs but they are well built and pretty solid compared to any other office chair I've used.

I'm in 30-40 different offices a year. I've sat in so many different chairs over the years, I wish I would have paid more attention. I do know that despite not digging the anesthetics, the mesh versions do seem pretty comfortable as a whole. Like you're more suspended.

There is a company that sell well-used chairs in the $400 range. The claim "open box" but they're junk.

I bought new Areon chairs for the office in 2005 and they're still fine.

I bought the open box ones in 2016 for our conf room, thinking I would save money and they're junk.

I have one and it’s comfortable but prefer a traditional non mesh chair. The mesh is too cold.

Never heard of this. This must be something for the lady boys who work in an office while real men are on the construction site

A legit, new Aeron chair is gonna tear up a $1K bill.

Full tilt, full recline.

I got tired of spending $250 every 2-3 years on crap that didnt last. I was skeptical at first too, but all we buy now are new Areons.

I'm not opposed to used (I knew at these prices they weren't from the manufacturer), I just don't want to get a piece of shite.

I guess I was hoping they were stolen. Love a good hot deal, you know?

The main part that is worn-out is the main recline feature.

For the conf room, that isn't that big an issue.

I'm like you though, I like to kick back with a bourbon and watch the game in my home office sometimes. Those used ones would suck for that.

Alright, last question, and be honest, do you sell new Herman Millar chairs?
