Youd think a state with brothels and casinos would have a state lottery

Alabama got Nick Saban - they won the lottery.

Mississippi just passed a law for it to be legal but it has not developed yet.
Just this week, Gov. Bryant appointed the directors for the Lottery Board.

If you stop at the first exit in Tennessee, the gas station has little to no merchandise, terrible bathrooms, several plastic tables, and lotto tickets. When you walk in, all you here is the sound of dozens of coins rubbing tickets on the hollow plastic tables. It sounds like cicadas, but only sadder.
There used to be a junky arse old gas station at the first exit into Georgia on I85 near Livonia that was probably very similar.
Now SC has the lottery, so this place went away.

Two gas stations plus that weird building that basically does nothing but sell lottery tickets (I think--I've never actually been in there).

Casinos don't want the competition.
That's exactly the reason for Nevada and why it's taken MS so long. The casino lobby efforts have won out. MS politicians have always said their constituents didn't want it. But that hasn't been the reason for about 15-20 yrs or so. Most Mississippians have warmed up to the casinos whether for the gaming, food, or entertainment. So gambling hasn't been taboo for quite a while. But like Bestbank Tiger said, the casinos don't want the competition and they have or had the politicians ear and wallet for a long time.

Alabama is only state without many things

we will never get the lottery here in Alabama. Too many corrupted politicians. Mississippi Louisiana Georgia Florida and Tennessee are putting money in the pockets of the politicians so they won't let us vote.

The one on I-85 at West Point, Georgia where I bought mine fits the description pretty well, though: Crappy bathrooms, plastic tables, and a long line as early as Thursday afternoon.
