Hmmm when I use to do upgrades (BBY) the only time someone would be slammed with a fee was for a bad credit check.

I believe you though TH03, I just haven't seen it (anecdotal).

It was typically on the next bill so you wouldn’t have seen it.

Now they do the payment plan shite and make you pay the sales tax up front.

I probably also have not seen it because I've been on a corporate policy since 2011.

30 bucks isn't too bad. I would see 500 fees sometimes for folks you wouldn't think had payment issues.

Yeah I even think $30 is high. I want to say it was $18 maybe.

Definitely not close to $500.

I don't like stupid fees anymore than anyone...I just don't understand your point about Pizza Hut. They simply have to pay the guy to bring it to you and are passing some of that cost on to you...

I am tired, been at a funeral in NO and wondering what Hillary Clintons nipples look like after a suggestion on the poliboard.

Pizza Purveyor is in an extremely price competitive field so adding on fees outside the sale/purchase price helps fool the customer into thinking he is getting his pizza cheaper .

Remove the word pizza and replace with service orovider, repeat.

Every penny goes straight to the bottom line,

While Bubba thinks he paid $9.99 for his pizza cause who worries about fees or sales tax, we just automatically pay it But his VISA reciept says $13.99 + tip!.

Pizza Hutt and how they charged a $3 delivery fee. If that fee doesn't go to the driver, then what does that money go towards?

Pizza Hut still pays the driver an hourly rate and mileage...so a chunk of that $3 delivery fee does end up going towards paying the driver.

Recently I upgraded my cellphone. I looked at the bill today and saw the $100 upgrade fee

You're paying for service of activating a new phone. $100 seems high AF, but its normal to have an activation fee.

And banks. Some banks charge fees to having a savings account.

Usually there's criteria to meet that would avoid any fees....linked to checking account with the same bank or a certain minimum balance in the account. Yes, the bank earns interest on the money you deposited. But if you only have $50 in a savings account, it costs the bank more to service your account than they earn off it...hence monthly service fees or minimum balance requirements to avoid said fees.

Should it be illegal for companies to charge intangible fees?
No...as long as they disclose the fee.

Looks like $8. I've got that in unwanted change on my dresser.

Airline Bag fees have brought in
$4.2 billion in one year. You don’t hear airlines crying about losses anymore.

Hotel fees are another one.
