I bet game day there is fun.

I've seen the badgers (win) there a few times. It's a really fun gamday experience. Stadium gets damn loud for big games. And just for fun, I was at this game where Bert called perhaps the greatest play of his time at UW. I was decked out in Iowa gear because we lost a bet with an Iowa buddy from the year before. Hawkeye fans around us were real confused. One guy got angry at me for wearing it.

I was up that way one Feb with a Windchill of -65 - I tipped food delivery very well that week, cause I was not taking my southern arse out in the cold except to go to work and back to the hotel.

edited - apparently I typed that like an 8yo with no fingers

I stayed my arse inside that week, too. Nothing like feeling your boogers freeze on the third breath outside.

The coldest I've been in was roughly -18 in Nebraska. It was brutal. The high was 0. It only lasted a few days though.

Things I don't miss:

1) subzero wind chills and having the blast coming off the el as it blows into the station on the platform

2) the sloppy gray snow/slop that piles up on the side of the streets and freezes into rock hard mounds that you trip or slip on

Real temp has gotten to about -45 here twice, both times it was for only a day or so. 10 day breaks at -15 to -20 aren't super uncommon, though.

Please explain what this means.

We all know what it means but no one wants to say it for fear of being banned.

A sushi joint in Bozeman killed one or two people last year and it's still operating.

Iowa City is far from conservative. It’s one of the most liberal places in the Midwest.

It is also one of the best college towns in America. Good bars and restaurants, fun downtown, vibrant and energetic, lots of white collar professionals, etc. It’s a nice place to live.
