What has AM's jail conditions been for 2 years? He was tied to all LE. He could even blackmail some LE that were on the take dirty cops- to be getting special favors/items in jail? Is he in county jail? I don't know much about his type of drug recovery. What medications stabilize him? If any? Do people really have an easy time getting drugs in jails? During interviews with detectives: in the cop car AM would spit his chew. His nicotine addiction would have him requiring chew. Does he have a jail cell with WiFi access TV?
If I am not mistaken, he is locked up in the Richland County (Columbia) jail but he is staying in the Colleton County jail during the trial. Once this is over, he will be transferred back to Richland County.
I haven’t seen or heard of him getting any special treatment. The jailhouse calls that was released, he mentions getting snacks and other stuff from the canteen. He mentioned last week on the stand that any TV he does get to watch is very limited and limited on reading materials. Also, last week he was charged with contraband by the Colleton County Sheriff’s department for his sister giving him that book and him interacting with Buster/family in the courtroom.

Thanks. That is a good summary. I thought I read somewhere about the property exchanging hands for small amounts. AM putting it in MM's name to protect his assets from retribution monies was no-brainer smart.
Sounds like a drug-smuggling operation from years ago from at least AM's granddads timeframe...

Barrett was a commerical fisherman who may not have been fishing as much as using his boat to smuggle drugs into South Carolina.
Barrett purchased Moselle in 2000. Barrett and Alex purchased two more properties together in 2003 and 2004. Barrett transferred Moselle to his wife for $1 in 2009 and then to Alex in 2013 for $5. Alex transfered it to Maggie in 2016 for $5. In July 2018, Barrett granted power of attorney to Alex. Barrett passed away of cancer in September 2018.

Murdaugh's current assets:
--Three bank accounts, containing a total of $10,000 in cash.
--A retirement account worth somewhere between $2.1 and $2.2 million
--An IRA retirement fund worth somewhere between $350,000 and $400,000
Real estate that Murdaugh has an interest in, along with other individuals, but can’t liquidate without court action, including a hunting club and some “small islands” around Beaufort County. Some of this real estate is owned through LLCs, Lay said.

Testimony concluded Tuesday in Alex Murdaugh’s double murder trial, and the jury could begin deliberations as early as Wednesday afternoon.
But first, that jury will take a field trip to the scene of the crime.
Judge Clifton Newman granted the defense’s request that the jurors be allowed to the Murdaughs’ hunting property, where prosecutors say the disgraced legal scion shot down his wife Maggie and younger son Paul on June 7, 2021. The visit will be limited to the jury, the judge, the attorneys, and police and security personnel.
Prosecutors objected to the trip to Moselle, noting that the property has been unoccupied in the nearly two years since the shooting and vegetation has grown considerably. The property is also under contract to be sold. Pool media — one reporter, one photographer, and one videographer — will be allowed on the property after the group leaves, CBS News reported.
The court group is expected to return to the courthouse in Walterboro, South Carolina — where the trial is being held — by 11 a.m. for the charging conference.

That book pass off in court from AM's sister was strange. Why wouldn't she just find a bailiff and he/she could search the book and give it to AM?
Or wait and visit him to try to give him the book?

If I were on the jury going out to Moselle.
I would have asked ahead of time for a demonstration of the exact gunshots: from the 2 different weapons 7 or 8 shots?
To be reenacted -safely of course- While I was standing at the house.
And do a drive by where Maggie's phone was thrown off Moselle Rd going 40 miles per hour and throwing it while driving.
Also, a dirt gravel potholed road is INSANE to go 80 miles per hour on especially at night. Ambos don't even do that in an emergency on dirt roads.

Wat are the exact charges the jury has to give verdict to?
Is arranging/paying for someone else to murder a specific charge? Manslaughter for hire? Murder for hire? Conspiracy of Murder?

Anyone can tell me how he may be found Not-Guilty? All I am hearing from anyone is Guilty 100%.
I was wondering if any reasonable doubt has been presented.

Jim Griffin did not go to Moselle with the jury. He stayed back and will deliver the closing arguments for the defense. Really surprised by this as Poot was listed and acted as the head defense lawyer. Something has happened over the last week or so. It has to be something with AM deciding to take the stand last week. It seems to be some dysfunction within the defense. Curious to see how this goes after this trial when the financial case starts rolling.
IMO, Griffin has done a better job with his direct and cross compared to DH. DH at times seemed to be not as prepared with some questioning and has acted like a Dick to some of the witnesses.

Some reporters in the courtroom have said that the jury hates Harpootlian. That may have something to do with it.

It’s paved but just like any other South Carolina rural road, it is full of potholes. Still not wise to drive that fast especially when it is extremely dark. I’m going to check it out this weekend

Can't see not guilty happening.
Either guilty or hung jury. The lack of any real forensic evidence of AM actually pulling the triggers might haunt the prosecution.
AM is either the shooter or very directly involved.

My only issue with that is how do reporters know what jury thinks? Reporters are not allowed near the jury and the same with the jury. Maybe they are basing that off body language when he gets up there?

Mr. Poot's voice is very irritating to me. I'm glad I don't have to listen to him. Plus he's unlikeable and badgers witnesses.

I think it would be a complete shock if he is found not guilty. Like you said, it with be guilty or hung. No doubt I think he is guilty but my gut tells me that a hung jury is more likely to happen. The lack of direct / forensic evidence does hurt the State in some aspects but I think there is enough circumstantial evidence there. The biggest question is it enough to convince all 12 members of the jury?

quote:In NC rural new & some old-- subdivisions are common to be gravel. It is so common that real estate listings in rural areas list as NOT MAINTAINED by NCDOT.
On Murdaugh's drive to Alameda, he drove a maximum speed of 74.4 mph and parked "closer to the wood line and the outbuildings," Rudofski testified.
Prosecutors have implied that Murdaugh may have disposed of the murder weapons on his visit to his mom.
After spending 20 minutes at his mom's home, Murdaugh returned to Moselle driving a maximum of 80.16 mph on pothole-ridden Moselle Road.
His average speed was also faster than it had been for any other trip he took that day, the witness said.

I presumed that it was gravel. But being he is a Murdaugh maybe it was paved properly, or gravel?
My bad, when I hear potholed road. I presume gravel which is subjected to being a mess after rain even if properly paved.
