Our old farm house had a 200 year old promisory note for seven dollars written in 1865 and it had dropped between the old log cabin tree trunks

.223 to .300 (BL) would be ample. I’m no expert but I’d wager that subsonic .300 suppressed would be fine.
This is correct. AND, due to fact that the round must travel much slower, subsonic rounds are normally of a MUCH higher weight. My son used to shoot a 220 grain subsonic versus normal round which is between 120 - 150 grains. (supersonic round)

Law enforcement was seen searching a river near Moselle back in 2021 and it was assumed they were looking for the murder weapon. They were out there with divers and metal detectors. Don’t think anything came from it, but it’s an indication of what they think AM or someone else did with the gun.

I flirted briefly with the idea of owning something in .300 Blackout, but concluded that the round is only used by neckbeards and wackjobs. Bias confirmed here.

The Greenville paper has a summary of what happened in Week 2 testimony both in front of the jury and without the jury present. LINK
The link above also has many additional links.
It also explains some of the nuances of why the financials haven't been heard in front of the jury and leads to Monday when the boat fatality money ramifications will be heard, not in front of the jury.
Monday the Judge will decide if the money side stays or goes.

Mallory Beach's family attny

Mark Tinsley, who represented Mallory Beach's estate, testified Monday that if Alex Murdaugh had been the victim of some vigilante who murdered his wife and son, he would have settled the lawsuit against him for a small sum.
"There was the shock and horror of what had happened and no one really thought about anything other than that," Tinsley said immediately after the June 7, 2021, slayings. "But pretty quickly I recognized the case against Alex, if he were the victim of some vigilante, it would, in fact, be over."
Tinsley said when you're asking for a money judgement before a jury, people have to be motivated by sympathy.
"If you represent Attila the Hun versus some sweet old grandmother, no one is going to give Attila the Hun money," Tinsley said.
The tragedy Alex had just endured meant no jury would have returned a verdict against him.
Three days before the murder, a hearing was scheduled in the boat crash case. Alex had claimed he was broke and couldn't cobble together more than $1 million. Tinsley didn't believe him and had asked a judge to force Alex to turn over his books.

5 minute break, and Judge will rule on the 404(b) issue

Mark Tinsley is a bad arse. I hope a jury gets to hear this. Judge’s decision on the evidentiary of other bad crimes is coming up in about 5 minutes.

Judge grants state's request to introduce Murdaugh's financial crimes as evidence
Following a brief recess, Judge Clifton Newman ruled that he would grant the prosecution's request to introduce Alex Murdaugh's alleged financial crimes as evidence.
The decision comes as a big win for the prosecution, who had sought to peg the South Carolina lawyer as a man compelled to commit the murders out of sheer desperation over his finances.
Upon airing his decision, Newman explained: 'The state argues that the logical nexus between the murders and other crimes is that the looming exposure of financial crimes provided motive for the murders and is evidence of malice, an essential element of the crime of murder.'
The jurist would also cite how on the morning of June 7, 2021 - days before the murders - the CFO of Murdaugh's now defunct law firm confronted the attorney over some $792,000 of missing legal fees from a case Murdaugh had worked.

Sounds like BS, but if the jury buys it then Tinsley has deposited a gift-wrapped answer to the "motive" question right in the prosecutors' laps.

THIS
Before, the financials did not seem to provide any genuine motive......

Feel bad for this witness, AM’s mother’s caretaker the night of the murders. She seems very nice and very nervous.
Says Alex was there 20 minutes, later after his dad’s funeral Alex told her specifically that he had been there 30-40 minutes that night, she recalls tearfully.

She's terrified. And she's believable. And she called her brother to tell him about it. They just showed AM staring at her.
To me, this is the most damning evidence so far. They don't even need the financial testimony.

Missed part about what she called her brother about.... fill me in.
And he better have a damn good reason for the Blue tarp...... that's very suggestive.....and bad for defense.. I could see jury locking into this.

She said she called her brother to talk to him about the conversation she had with AM when AM told her he had been there for 40 minutes.

But Judge Newman said: 'I find that the jury is entitled to consider whether the apparent desperation of Mr. Murdaugh because of his dire financial situation, the threat of being exposed for committing the crimes for which he was later charged, resulted in the commission of the alleged crimes.'
I like the phrasing "The jury is entitled to consider"
