Interior Paint Colors
Posted by Tester1216 on 12/17/18 at 8:11 pm26
I’m doing some remodeling in my home and interior painting will be needed. What’s colors are the newer homes using and does it matter what color the outside of your home is?

If you don't want to pay a designer, go to a local high end paint store and see if they have a color consultant. Their services are sometimes free if you buy all the paint and supplies from them.

Light grays are the in thing right now
Building a house and using dove white from Benjamin’s Moore (not a gray). Light white colors but not bright white

Avocado and Harvest Gold.
Just like you currently have to match your appliances.

I saw a lot of this on Pinterest. Does it matter that the outside of my house is more of a warm color?

We’ve used a lot of BM Classic Gray inside.
Our exterior is Oyster White, Alabaster trim, and Silver Strand shutters (all Sherwin Williams)

It seems that my wife paints every room a different shade of khaki. It feels like a hotel to me but I don't give a shite enough to complain

Interior colors depend on the room. Bedrooms usually take on earth tones which promote rest and sleep. Dens should be darker colors because they're primarily used for TVs. Kitchens and breakfast areas can be fun if bright colors, preferably pastels, are used. Sunrooms are best when painted white or another light, bright color.
Outside, white still remains one of the most popular house colors but others like cream, beige, yellow and lighter shades of grey and blue are not far behind. Many homeowners who like darker shades prefer shades of brown paint for the exterior.

I'm always amazed at the Easter egg colored houses in the hood

No...does the interior paint have to be in the same color family as the exterior paint?

The stucco outside of my house is a Golden color, do I have to carry that tone or color family into my home?

Look into gray hues. I've seen some very nice lighter tones that were amazing

Thanks Gents.
Grey seems to be the hot color right now.

Behr Armadillo is a nice neutral shade. Have it in 3 rooms.
