If the guy in Waco really raped and murdered a woman, he deserved every bit of it. If we still punished people who did those things in that manner, you would see a lot less of those crimes.

What this thread needs now to restore calmness and tranquility to the O-T are some beautiful women in black and white (that's how you know it's art). Enjoy.

Danish actress Anna Karina

French actress Catherine Deneuve

European (I think German) model Gitta Schilling

English actress and singer Jane Birkin

American actress Paulette Goddard

"Hell's Half Acre," a row of disreputable houses at the edge of the mill settlement at Avondale. These houses harbor the scum of the negroes and whites of the vicinity, and are separated from the mill village by a shallow ditch, which gave Gov. Comer, owner of the mills, the excuse that they were not on the mill property when the question of their removal was taken to him a while ago. A prominent social worker told me that not only do the mill people patronize these resorts, but that the broken down mill girls end up in these houses and that there are, on court record, three cases within a year of girls under fourteen years of age ruined in Hell's Half Acre. Told me, that there are innumerable instances showing the bad moral influence of the cotton mill settlement. (See report on Avondale conditions). Location: Birmingham, Alabama.

not a ton of pics but unreal that the US planned on invading and occupying canada, possibly blockading the UK, and the use of chemical weapons

It would be absolutely incredible if someone could take this information, write a story line of it actually happening, and turn it into a series on HBO.

Khe Sanh, South Vietnam, March 1968: Hospital Corpsman Theodore Rutkowski of Pittsburgh lies on the ground just outside of Khe Sanh's outer defenses and uses a stethoscope to listen for signs of Viet Cong tunneling beneath the beleaguered base.

Yeah, I googled War Plan Red, and now have about 12 Wikipedia tabs open... My night is likely gone.

There are some amazing pics from the 1906 quake. I will give links because they are too big to post as images.

Aerial view of Arnhem during operation Market Garden.

Bottom picture is of my grandfather who was a CG-4A glider pilot. I have several other photos of my grandfather but not on me. He has many photos and entries in the book Kilogram by Bob Minick which documents WWII glider pilots.

Michigan-UChicago game, Thanksgiving Day 1905

Chicago wins 2-0 when Michigan player Denny Clark is tackled for a safety with only a few minutes left in the game, snapping UM's 56 game unbeaten streak. Chicago claims the conference and national titles. Denny Clark slips into depression, transfers and shoots himself in 1932, stating in a suicide note that he hoped this "final play" would make up for his error against Chicago.

The Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock (used to be in Terrell) has a nice collection of memorabilia, including the CG-4A and items from the crews that flew them. If you are ever around that area, you will find it very interesting.

I wasn't aware they had a museum dedicated to them. I will definitely check this out.

He was an amazing person who was so important in making me the person I am today. I was the first grandchild and paw paw's favorite. I spent every summer up until age 15 with him at Bundick's Lake. Hands down some of the best memories of my life.

Sadly, he passed away last year. I was able to see him about 8 months before he passed. My aunt tells me she hadn't seen him light up the way he did that day in a long time and never after.

What they say about those men being the greatest generation is 100% true. I'm very happy I was able to spend many years of quality time with someone from it.
