Morons.
Slavery still goes on in Africa.
There's slavery in Haiti. Black families sell their kids to other black families as laborers.
Freed blacks also owned slaves.
At no period in human history has there not been slavery.
Blacks in the south were treated better by their masters than whites in the north working in early factories. If they died they were replaceable. Slaves represented a considerable investment.
Of course, the Mandingo fighting in Django was absolute b s. -never happened.
Blacks captured other blacks in Africa and then sold them to the slave traders.
Where would blacks be of they'd never been brought to the US? What would our country look like? Those are the questions people know the answer to but won't say.

No. Haley presented ROOTS as history. His personal family history.
That was the big spin that brought media attention and made him a millionaire.
Turns out it was b s and contained a ton of hostorical inaccuracies (lies).

Singleton directed that horrible Twilight tard movie. Abandoned. Something like that. Taylor Lautner trying to
be an action star. Lutz. Bombed.
So... Play the race card. Try to get a gig again.

In the early 1980s, when Alex Haley, the author of "Roots," was speaking at Lincoln Center, investigative reporter Philip Nobile asked him a straightforward question. Since he had paid Harold Courlander $650,000 in a plagiarism suit, why shouldn't Haley be considered a criminal instead of a hero? Haley had no answer. Well, what would you expect from someone who had pulled off one of the biggest con jobs in U.S. literary history? Yet the "Roots" hoax has sustained itself. Every PBS station in America refused to show the 1997 BBC documentary inspired by Nobile's reporting on the book.
Since "Roots" has brought millions of black tourist dollars to Gambia, one Gambian said to me, "Yes, it is a lie but it is a good lie."

The massive book "Roots" by Haley won a Pulitzer Prize for its account of several generations of an African-American family living in America, a family which Haley said was his own. The writer said he did years of research into his ancestors before writing the book, but doubt has been cast by historians onto the research and whether the man Haley claimed was his ancestor, Kunta Kinte, actually existed. In 1978, after the book was turned into a legendary miniseries, Haley was sued by author Harold Courlander, who said that passages of "Roots" were taken from his novel "The African." Haley said he did not plagiarize but admitted that some sections of "Roots" seemed to have originally appeared in "The African." "Alex Haley ... regrets that various materials from The African by Harold Courlander found their way into his book Roots," said a statement by the author.

It didn't happen.
Unfortunately, the general public is largely unaware of how Haley's monumental family autobiography, stretching back to 18th-century Africa, has been discredited.
Indeed, a 1997 BBC documentary expose of Haley's work has been banned by U.S. television networks - especially PBS, which would normally welcome such a program.
Coincidentally, the "Roots" anniversary comes amid the growing scandal over disclosures of historian Stephen Ambrose's multiple incidents of plagiarism. Because as Haley himself was forced to acknowledge, a large section of his book -
including the plot, main character and scores of whole passages - was
lifted from "The African," a 1967 novel by white author Hal Courlander.
But plagiarism is the least of the problems in "Roots." And they would likely have remained largely unknown, had journalist Philip Nobile not undertaken a remarkable study of Haley's private papers shortly before they were auctioned off.
The result was featured in a devastating 1993 cover piece in the Village Voice. It confirmed - from Haley's own notes - earlier claims that the alleged history of the book was a near-total invention.

Best DIE HARD imitator film?
Posted by R2Z2 on 2/15/13 at 12:15 pm
Die hard was the model for dozens of knockoffs.
"It's DIE HARD on a ______."
Under Seige
Mall Cop
Air Force One
firestorm
Cliffhanger
Two films coming out are "Die Hard at the White House": White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen.
Which is the best imitator?
So far Id say AIR FORCE ONE. "Die Hard on Air Force One with the President as McClane."

The act preaching politics or whatever charity of the week they are backing is annoying. We don't care. Shut up and sing.
The act asking the audience to song the chorus. We paid to hear YOU.
Audience singing along too damn much. I don't wanna hear the idiots next to me.
Audience talking. Hate that.
Smokers and tokers. Drunks.

Car chase in Bullit.
Opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.
Still prefer HEAT.

Her pro Obama ad was puke worthy.
This show is a symptom of the white trashing of America. Go after the rich Ivy League school girls. Put them in womyn studies programs. Fat arse white trash tatted up ugly American bitched.
Apatow jumped the shark with Funny People. This is just further evidence of his suck factor.
