Instagram Is Testing Ability to Share Videos up to 90 Minutes Long

The moves are meant to position Instagram as a bigger potential competitor to YouTube. But for now, Instagram is still not planning a revenue-sharing program akin to YouTube’s that would compensate creators for sharing their work on the platform.
Instagram announced the test of the new features in (of course) a video shared Monday on the platform.
“Instagram is all about connecting people over creativity. And creativity is so much more than just short-form video or posting carousels,” Instagram VP of product Tessa Lyons said in the video, alongside Instagram head Adam Mosseri. Lyons said Instagram wants to accommodate creators who are telling stories in different ways on the platform, such as in episodic series, and that it’s seeing some sharing clips from long-form videos to drive discovery of that content.

It is insane the hold this application has middle age white women. If the algorithm decided to push nazism they’d be nagging us to invade Poland by Thanksgiving.

No wonder they wanted more data centers. They just want people glued to their phones for hours so they can make money off advertising.
