I hate the Infiniti SUV. Lexus all day

The bigger Infiniti SUV is a POS. It’s horribly built, has a motor that sounds terrible, and the tech is ancient.

At least the Lexus provides good build quality.

Nice subtle brag. And your wife needs a minivan.

No. This is just not correct.

Never driven an infinity, by my 460 has been a good drive over the last year.

Wife has a 2016 MDX and we both hate it.

My complaint with the entire Lexus line of late. Why the giant matching grills from the road to the hood? They look ridiculous in my opinion, but that's just me. Kinda looks like an attractive woman that ruins her face by getting too many injections in her lips.

Ask yourself which is more reliable and dependable, Nissan or Toyota. The answer to that parallels the answer to your question.

The Toyota corporation sells 2 larger (truck based, at that) SUVs in the North American Market than the 4Runner/GX - the Toyota Sequoia (based on the Tundra), and the Land Cruiser/LX.

So, if the Toyota Tacoma is a "mid-sized" truck, it seems to follow that the 4Runner and Lexus GX are "mid-sized" SUVs.

Every competing domestic brand AND Nissan sell a larger SUV than the 4Runner/GX.

What parts of the analysis are you having problems with?

I second that. MDX was nothing but trouble. They tried way too hard with the electronics. Always something going out it seemed.

I’m at the Lexus dealership right now, and as much as id like to buck up and say I’m right, I just walked over and compared the GX to the LX and gawd damn. I feel like a chump getting back getting back into my GX460. The LX is definitely bigger.

Now if only I was willing to shell out the extra 40k then I’d be golden.

I have an 2005 Infiniti FX35 that I got right after Katrina. It has 75,000 miles and is a very good driver. I drive it like an adult. The only problems I have had was the mass air flow sensor went out..but didn't leave me stranded.
Had the dash board problems with melting/bubbling. After 3 dash boards and about 6 years and this one has some cracks. The rubber/vinyl on Japanese cars are shite anyway. The vinyl part on the drivers seat has torn and looks like crap.
I do not care for Ray Brandt Infiniti..They are a bunch of shysters..I have a recall for the air bags and have been putting it off because of Ray Brandt is the only place that can change them out in New Orleans. Knock on wood it has been a great car.

Yeah, for what you'd spend on a LX, you could leave with a GX and an IS or, perhaps a program ES coming off a 3 year lease.

Flirting with the underside of 6 figures is a shite ton of money for a truck. Now, it is probably the best overland vehicle sold in our market, outside of it's Toyota sibling the Land Cruiser. But, still.

ETA: Good news - if the LX (or Land Cruiser) is in your wheelhouse, you can let someone else eat the depreciation for a few years and still drive it until the wheels fall off.

Buy a pre-loved certified LX570, and don't look back. Folks keep them for well over 500k miles.

I love my GX460, but the tech is outdated. However, that's not why I bought it.

LX 570 drives like shite.

The GX500 is a much better drive.

The OX80 is way more FUN to drive than either. But the GX is like gliding on rails. Smooth smooth smooth.

I honestly have no idea how Lexus service stays in business. Wife has had two ES350's. Daughter now driving the 2009 and other than routine maintenance has never had an issue.

Just read the full original post. If you’re looking for a full size SUV stay far far away from the QX80...especially used. Fairly certain they are abysmal in terms of reliability.

The Lexus has an ugly grill, but won’t give you any trouble mechanically.
