Sociology is SJW central. I had to take a deviant sociology class and was the only dude in there. I purposely took up "controversial" subjects to do my class reports. While I was not the most popular guy in the room, I did get fairly graded which shocked me.
You must be EXTREMELY unpopular.

I was assaulted by a white male on campus . I understand , but this class seems like an easy A and waste of school.

You are absolutely right. It’s because higher education is a scam unless you are getting certain degrees, and even then the information could be taught in a more efficient manner.
I'm sure the original intent was to provide a more well rounded education but the current cost vs. benefit to this no longer makes a lot of sense.

Pretty much. There is none of the "every kid should be in college" bullshite there. You are tracked based on your abilities. The difference is they really don't look down on trade skills and blue collar jobs like we do here.
my only complaint about this system (and similar to Belgium) is that there are people like myself that barely graduated high school but excelled in college, once I got into my curriculum. I would've never gotten my degree in those countries.

All the progress that was made in increasing the endowment of LSU Alhmni and then they pull the rug out from all those efforts by doing full Leftist.
I was a cheerleader for donating to the LSU Foundation. I love LSU. Love it. But I can't in good conscience donate to a school that openly supports a Marxist organization like BLM, bows to the woke Twitter Mafia to remove the names of great Americans from their buildings, and generally has become a cesspool of leftist ideology. It really is a shame.

But if you had grown up in that system, you probably would have taken your secondary studies much more seriously.

I was somewhat similar. I graduated HS with something like a 2.5 GPA. I just didn't try and was more interested in girls and beer than academics.
No TOPS back then but I made a 31 on the ACT so I didn't have any issues getting into LSU. I graduated with a 3.7 through 2 degrees in college.

Im just not a fan of the government deciding what my future looks like. Maybe they have ways to climb back out of the blue collar path?

In IT and the software industry it doesn’t matter. Hiring Managers care more about what kind of portfolio you have put together on GitHub, ect and what kind of core competencies you can bring to a functional team you are interviewing for. LSU never prepared me for a white board interview or real-world data structure/algorithm interview questions. Never use the 3 levels of calc required to graduate. I must say, MGT 3200 with Sauley; is a class that is very much tangible and many takeaways I still use to this day.

They do. No matter if you attend a Realschule, Hauptschule, or Gymnasium you can still attend University if you have the qualifying grades. It's just that the Realschule focuses more on real-world knowledge and prep for trade schools, Hauptschule focuses a bit more on pure academics, and Gymnasium is pure academic prep for University.
But it's really not the government deciding your future. It's you. All tracks are decided by test scores. It's no different than having to settle for trade school or a lower tier University if you don't have the grades to get in to an Ivy.

Yeah, I don't really apply much that I learned at LSU in the real world. Most of the technology that I work with on a daily basis didn't even exist when I was in college.

Unless you go to Harvard or Yale or someplace like that it doesn't matter that much where you went to school after you get into the workforce. I had a Tulane and A&M grad that reported to me and my LSU degree at my last job.
