I can’t imagine why the Seminole tribe would want to stop it. It’s awesome. It’s not insulting at all.

The only one you might have an argument against is "Redskins". All the others are compliments, not insults. Changing them has been PC SJW insanity.

I like the pregame routine better than the black uniforms.

Conan's perfect with Burr...give him a subject to riff on, then just sit back and let him go.

Oh, and ESPN cut to commercial just before Osceola threw down the spear.

Straight from FSU website.

Relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida

For almost 70 years, Florida State has worked closely, side by side, with the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The relationship, built on respect, is so mutually supportive that in 2005 the tribe — which rarely puts such things in writing — took an unprecedented, historic step with a public declaration of support. The Seminole Tribe invited the university president at that time, T.K. Wetherell, to Big Cypress Reservation to receive a written resolution from the Tribal Council affirming its enthusiastic support for the university's use of the Seminole name, logos and images. Subsequently, Chief Jerry Haney of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma also publicly stated his support.

Osceola and Renegade

In 1978, FSU embarked upon a new tradition — one that had the full endorsement of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. A Seminole warrior riding a horse, to become known as Osceola and Renegade, was introduced at FSU home football games, and soon became one of the most enduring and beloved symbols of the university.

In the early 1990s, activists began to show up at FSU football games to protest the use of the Seminole name. Blistering speeches were given. Several times, the debate became heated. An Oklahoma Seminole Indian, Mike Haney, began to make frequent statements threatening to file human-rights complaints against FSU if it did not discontinue the use of the Seminole name and imagery. Throughout these attacks, the Seminole Tribe of Florida remained supportive of FSU and its use of the Seminole name and images. Later, Chief Jerry Haney of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma added his support to FSU as well.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. There’s been rumors of Hiawatha and Sitting Bull smoking each other’s peace pipe, so...

Only white people that cant mind their own business are offended by “racist” mascots

Well, and politicians of all colors. The Houston school board finally bypassed student input and changed a bunch of school names and mascots a couple years ago. Up until then, majority-minority student bodies kept voting to keep their rebel and redskin mascots.

The Seminole tribe approves of it. It brings them a sense of pride.

They may not have that sense of pride by the time Taggart is done destroying the program.

Actually, “Redskins” was never insulting either. In fact, the name was coined by a pair of Native Americans who played on the team. “Redskin” was the term of endearment and pride, typically used by fellow Natives to refer to themselves. “Injun” was the racial epithet.

The whole “Redskins” being offensive meme was started by white people trying to be offended on the behalf of others.

I wish more organizations, universities, companies, etc would handle these type of situations like FSU.

Ignore it. Ignore the SJW/PC crowd. Don’t even respond to them. Don’t debate. Don’t discuss it. Don’t even acknowledge it.

If so, maybe we as a society would stop making major decisions based on emotions and feelings. Then these people would begin to disappear again.
