In the process of taking Airline Hwy from Zachary to prairieville...

There's a few blocks right before you get to I-110 but it's nothing to worry about. Hop on 110 and you'll get there much quicker and the bullets won't be flying.

This was the quickest way according to my iPhone maps app. I'm about to cross over I-12 and I only had two people come up to my car at red ligjts. It was a couple miles back though. It's storming outside. Why were people walking around in this?

Yes, you will inevitably pass through bad neighborhoods from Scotlandville until you get to florida. However, the road is far from unsafe.

It was pretty depressing seeing how shitty a lot of the area was for like a 8 mile stretch. What happened? I just crossed over Siegen Lane, and I feel like I'm in a whole different country now.

It was all a shoddily built heavy commercial and industrial area when those areas were built in the 70's. They've been poorly maintained and the consumers in the area are poor so you get shitty tenets. Shitty or non-existent tenets plus aging poor construction equals shitty looking area. The stuff south of Siegan has largely been built just in the past 20 years.
