Cops are the worst about driving around dusk/night with no lights on because they must turn theirs off during the day or turn Auto lights off for whatever reason.

Saw a BRPD Charger with nothing other than running lights driving on I-10E in Ascension a few weeks back

I see more cars driving in torrential downpours (greyout conditions) with no lights at all. Usually the car / truck is light colored to compound the issue.

Around here I think it's a case of the driver being too stupid to understand the basic headlight operations on these newer vehicles.

I do it all the time.

Can't see anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I just drive like I'm back in Johannesburg and it all works out.

This is something that legitimately needs to be regulated so of course nothing will be done about it.

I had a Ford Escape for work years ago. I forgot it didn’t have auto on lights. The worst design feature was that the interior lights never dimmed when you turned the headlights on and the running lights put out just enough illumination to make you think they were on. shite was dangerous.

"Oh, they're just aimed incorrectly."

"It's not really the brightness, it's the color."

"It's just bros putting aftermarket lights on they trucks....."

Well.....fix it.

on the flip side, on my 2024 Mazda cx-30, on dims, you either see brightly lit directly in front of you, but beyond that.......complete blackness. no in between. it's no wonder people resort to brights all the time.
