If you acquire any railroad or vintage model railroad stuff, give me a shout if you want to sell it.

do you respect start times or you one of the ones who's there an hour before opening trying to buy stuff before everyone else?

I will pick the garage sale that looks most promising, get there an hour early. If someone is outside, I’ll ask if I can shop. I’ve never had someone tell me no.

I’ve said it before, if you get to a garage sale the time it says in paper, you are too late.

I don’t think they are Kewpie dolls. There’s no hit on the ones I have

Donate to a middle school. Those would be awesome for a middle school library. Probably could get a tax write off too.

You don’t donate 1st edition collector series books to a middle school, they’d tear them up. I’ve seen thousands of non 1st editions Harry Potters at garage sales. That’s what you donate.

Oh I agree. I must have misread. I thought you were just going to sell them for $5 to try and get rid of them.

I did sell them for $5. They are probably worth $30-$50 because one book is missing. I don’t want to sit on them waiting for them to sell, plus the guy that bought them also bought something else for $45

My first guess if I saw those wouldn’t be “decanter”

I don't think they're a decanter like in the sense that you pour wine into them. Its a wine bottle holder. I only know because they have one behind the bar at Bistro Byronz and I think also TJ Ribs. I always thought it was so tacky, so it stuck in my memory.

EDIT - Well it does kinda look like a top comes off like a normal decanter. Weird.

I’m amazed people are so bitter in these threads

For some reason, I knew the tone of my post was going to be misinterpreted. I wasn't shitting on the OP at all. I was more shocked that there's a $250 market for overly animated LSU mascot wine bottle holders.

Its the type of thing you saw in "nice" BR restaurants in the 90s.

If you put the LSU stuff on eBay and told us you have new LSU stuff up then people like me that live five hours away could have a chance to buy your stuff and you make more money

What is your eBay handle? I would have paid $100 each for the decanters, maybe more if I got a better look at them

I didn’t sell them on eBay. I sold them in the LSU collectors’ club on Facebook, that I started years ago. If I sold them on eBay, I’d pay eBay and PayPal fees, have to package them up and take to post office, etc.
$300 <<<< $250 in group where I don’t pay fees or have to ship.
There are some on eBay. The two lesser sell for $75 and $50 (but the one is missing the necktag stating it’s LSU. The other sells for $150-$175.
So I priced them $150, $75, & $25, sold in one lot. They lasted about 30 seconds.
